Up for sale is this unique and very rare 3000GT VR4 in Caracas Red. Manual 6 speed transmission. The car has original 50K miles on it with clean title, clean car fax, everything works but as expected the vehicle is 20 years old. Disclaimer, its not new. . . There are a few dings, rock chips, scuffs, leather has signs of usage especially drivers side, etc but the outside and interior are in excellent condition for a 20 year old car.
The car had been garaged for a long time, spider webs, bugs, etc. The car needed and still needs some tlc, unfortunately I do not have time to keep working on the car and I need the space in my garage. My intent was to put the car back to stock, remove the sound system and replace everything that was done, so I started purchasing parts and changing parts: I got the trunk plastics, spare tire, flat board, stock tweeters and some others mentioned below.
Since I purchased the car I have done the following:
New Clutch (Exedy - OEM). Purged and cleaned the lines
New reverse switch (lights wouldnt light up when in reverse)
Removed alarm system and went back to stock with stock keyless access.
Two keyless OEM remotes with three keys. I installed new lock door modules
Installed a new stereo (Alpine CDE-164BT) - as you can see in the pictures.
Installed a new fuel sending unit as the gas needle wouldn"t move.
Installed new front struts I couldn"t get the rears because I purchased the wrong part number. Car needs an alignment, but I held off on it since I wanted to get the rear struts installed too. But never got around to it.
Installed new wheels 18X9.5 +30 ROTA P45R 5X114.3 with new tires.
Changed all the fluids - Transmission, transfer case, rear differential, engine, all with amsoil high quality oils.
The oil pan had a small leak, so I took that off and fixed the leak. While I was there, I removed the Transfer case and replaced the seals for both the transfer case and transmission with OEM parts.
Installed new rear differential bushings.
Cleaned and detail the entire car, inside and outside.
The car has a huge great sound system. JL Audi 13.5 W7 powered with Precision Power (PCX-2400) for the subwoofer and PCX-4125 for the speakers. The speakers are MQ Quarts. The sound system itself is very expensive! it was professionally installed with a custom made box. I added some dynamat as the old one was tearing up
The car has an exhaust that has been installed and HKS air filter. Car passes emissions with no problems.
I installed a new center/arm rest console box (the old one was broken).
The car, to my standards still needs:
Transmission mount (the engine ones seem fine), this will help with smoother shifting and gear engagement also get rid of the clutch engagement clunk.
Wheel bearings, the stock ones could be re-greased or get new wheel bearings.
AC Compressor Clutch. The AC works and blows very cold but the ac compressor had a different size belt,and it caused damaged to the clutch, so either replace the AC clutch or the compressor itself.
As you can see, the car is in great condition and it comes with great stuff that was done. I got it 80% of the way there to be perfect, but its time for someone else to take on this. I do not have the time anymore and like I said the space in my garage is needed. As you can see, there has not been any major work on it, just the maintenance that hadn"t been done in the past.
