Hey all,
Here is my 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ Limited. It has the 4.0 straight 6 engine and automatic transmission. It has 189,000 miles and is in excellent condition overall. It’s been well cared for and needs nothing to take you wherever you want to go.
Mechanically it’s in fantastic shape. The engine starts, runs and drives just like it should with plenty of power and no strange noises or warning lights. The transmission shifts perfectly. The brakes and suspension are good and the vehicle drives well. The tires are a nice matching set of Yokohama’s with plenty of tread life left. The cooling system was recently serviced, the power steering, heat and air conditioning work perfectly and this Jeep has NO leaks. I recently had the rear main seal and oil pan gasket replaced. I also had the transmission filter and gasket replaced along with the fluid. The battery is about a year old. It always passes Georgia emissions and has no engine or other warning lights. It needs nothing mechanically.
The body is also in excellent condition. It has all factory original paint which is still in good condition and shines nicely. There is absolutely NO RUST on this Jeep. It has been a southern vehicle it’s whole life and never driven in salt or snow. There is no evidence of any kind of body repairs, except the front bumper may have been refinished at some point. The only imperfections on the body are a small shallow ding on the passenger front fender, a small scratch on the front bumper and a small crack in the paint on the header panel. There are pictures of all these. All the trim and glass is in excellent condition. All the lights are working fine, wipers are good and the factory roof rack is in good shape. Overall, this Jeep is in excellent cosmetic shape.
On the interior, it’s also in great shape. This is where the Limited trim really shines. It includes power leather seats, wood grain trim, door panel storage pockets, overhead console and Infinity sound system. The leather seats are clean and comfortable. The carpet is clean with no stains, wear or damage. It has all its factory floor mats which are in good shape. The headliner is nice and all the dash and trim are in nice shape. There are no weird rattles or issues on the interior. It’s very nice inside. The only imperfection is a crack on the edge of the drivers seat. All the power options work great. It has a nice Pioneer stereo which is set up for Bluetooth and satellite radio, but I’ve never used either. It’s very nice inside this Jeep.
Overall, this Jeep is in awesome shape. I think you’d be hard pressed to find a nicer unrestored example. It drives smooth and quietly, handles well and does everything just like it should. Its always been a secondary vehicle for me, but I recently took it on a 1000 mile road trip with no drama. It’s ready to hit the road!
