The body is straight and solid, the engine bay is extremely tidy and the trunk’s cargo area looks great. The body-colored bumpers fit tightly to the body and look good.
This cat rolls on Mastercraft MC-440 radials, size 225/60R16, each one mounted on a factory alloy wheel. The wheels are in excellent shape while the tires are in very good condition. This car uses a “touring” set-up that is softer and more compliant.
Under that forward-hinged and counterbalanced hood is a 4.0L DOHC, 32-valve V-8 engine (code AJ27-V8) with Bosch direct fuel injection and two-state variable valve timing. Other features include fracture-split forged powder metal connecting rods, a special one-piece cast camshaft and reinforced plastic intake manifold. The motor is mated to ZF five-speed automatic transmission (code ZF 5HP24) with a 3.06:1 rear end. Driver convenience features include automatic climate control, ZF Servotronic power rack-and-pinion steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, cruise control, power windows, power locks, power sideview mirrors and 12-way power front seats.
