Up for your consideration is a beautiful 1998 Lotus Esprit V8. Finished in black over tan this Esprit is a turn key driver ready for it"s next owner!
I purchased the car last fall from Lotus of Western NY and have put a lot of money into making it one of the most mechanically sound Esprits out there! This is a beautiful driver! It is 100% mechanically sorted and ready to be DRIVEN. I would not hesitate to take this car cross country.
Upon receiving the car I had a fresh set of Nitto NT05s installed in correct sizes. In February of this year she received a fresh major service to include new (blue Gates) timing belts, tensioner, accessory belts, water pump, thermostat, fluids, hoses, brakes, tires, etc! I also had a new PNM Engineering center exhaust, sport cats, forged wastegates and new valence installed. The car sounds fantastic! All OEM exhaust (cats, muffler, valence) are included. Over $8,000 spent! Receipts are on hand.
OEM radio is included. In 2004 the speedometer was replaced due to odometer failure at 16,000 miles. This is a common issue with Esprits and the mileage was documented in the door jam and shows on the carfax. Odometer shows 15,7xx miles currently (both pictured)
Exterior: The paintwork is commiserate with the mileage and age of the car. Many of the leading edges have PPF applied, but there are rock chips on the front bumper. 3/4 wheels show curbing and could stand to be refinished. There are some minor imperfections here and there and the car will require conditioning to be "showroom" perfect. Overall, 7/10. This is being PICKY. For regular use it looks great. Brand new front lip spoiler installed recently.
Interior: Leather is supple and shows little sign of wear overall. Carpets are clean and black floor mats are included. The leather section under the gauge binnacle is pulling at one of the corners (pictured). The main dashboard is in good shape with no bubbling or pulling. 8/10
Wheels: Wheels are true and balanced. Minor curbage on 3/4 and could stand to be refinished.
Brakes: Brand new front brakes, OEM Brembo pads with drilled rotors. OEM rear Brembos.
Accessories: Everything WORKS as it should. A/C blows cold, radio (aftermarket bluetooth radio, OEM included), heat, parking brake, all lights, etc. Cooling system works flawlessly and the car holds steady temp even in 100 degree Vegas days. Glass is in great shape, as are all seals and major rubber components.
So what else would I do if I were keeping it forever? In order to make this a perfect showstopper the following will need attention: Ashtray on driver door clips have failed - although it stays in place - recommend replacement. Drivers door speaker cover dented from ingress/egress - repair or replace cover. Refinish wheels. Recover leather section under gauge binnacle. Full paint correction with minor touch ups and sealant. The car has been priced accordingly with consideration given to associated reconditioning costs.
