Vehicle description
Full Disclosure: This vehicle has recently suffered from “subframe failure,” a known problem to all Z3 and M Roadster owners. Somewhere between last driving season and this season, it’s happened as my mechanic noticed the separation of the trunk floor from the frame crossmember doing routine maintenance. The car is now off the road to prevent further damage and is priced with the knowledge that it needs to be repaired. Randy Forbes is known to have the absolute best kit for this repair. I have emailed and spoken with Randy and have confirmed he does have kits - $575 for kit plus $35 shipping in US.
History: I purchased the car from Champaign Motor Cars here in Connecticut in 2012 and during my ownership have added about 1,500 miles per driving season. The car now has 56,803 miles. The car has received ongoing and preventative maintenance to include:
New convertible top
Refreshed cooling system
Refeubished the original rims
New tires
Synthetic oil changes every other season
If you’re a CT BMW Club member, you’ve likely seen my car at a few ice cream socials over the years and roaming the streets of central and north east Connecticut. I’ve truly loved owning this car, but with a 1968 BMW 2002 restoration underway and a refurbish of a 1987 BMW 325is, I don’t have the time or inclination to do this repair.
Beyond the above stated disclosure, the car is in great shape. It has not been tracked, has no leaks, cold AC, great paint, a clean interior, with a very strong engine and transmission. It drives like you’d expect and M car to drive.
Please ask me anything. Clean CarFax and title in hand.
