1997 SAAB 9000 CSE Turbo-50th Anniversary Edition VIN: YS3CF68M2V1019214 Mileage: 131,663
My brother (certified mechanic) and I were out looking for parts one day for my SAAB 9-5 3 years ago and stumbled onto this diamond in the rough. The body kit was a telltale sign this was no ordinary SAAB, she was pretty special. We went into the car and looked around, as a SAAB lover we noticed the 2 tone interior, bucket seats & elbow rest which was interesting. Then under the seat was a license plate with 50th year anniversary commemorative edition. Went home and did some research and found this was an extremely rare car. In 1997, this was the last of the 9000 SAAB, hence the 50th anniversary edition plate. As soon as i could get back to the yard, took a better look and the body was nice, paint not to bad and rust free. Motor was blowing smoke like crazy. So made them an offer and took it home as our next cool project. Over the last 3yrs, put over 250 hours of blood, sweat and tears into this car. Well my brother the mechanic did while I provided food and money for the project. She is rebuilt titled, the car is in tip-top shape, runs perfectly and has had almost everything replaced, restored/repaired or enhanced. This is the most comprehensive list of things that were done that we can remember, probably more but its been 3yrs. Intended to keep the car for shows and Sunday driving but we decided to open a full service 5,000sf repair and restoration shop, thus need to sell the project cars we have done and invest in the shop.
You can own a piece of history, from what we can find there are less than 50 of these world-wide and none registered in the US, at least not the anniversary edition.
Car has been garage kept last 3 yrs, never seen snow since painted and comes with a 30gal bin of additional rare parts if ever needed.
300-310 ftlbs torque 270-280 HP. She has been tuned and setup as a reliable daily driver with some seriously responsive power when needed, we did the T7 boost controller conversion when the ECU was upgraded adds to the smooth power transition
