“This is the actual Defender that you see parked on the drive in the final scene of Fast and Furious 9 at the family BBQ in the garden! It was wrapped in blue by the film production company and remains as it was in the film. The car is black underneath and has some bruises and scrapes and minor corrosion but is very sound with no rot.” |

Vehicle description
1997 Land Rover Defender 90 NAS
I imported this Defender from Japan mid 2019 and had it up for sale on when I was contacted by a movie production company asking if they could use it for an upcoming film entitled "FF9". I agreed and they took the car and wrapped it in the colour you see in the photos (it is black underneath) and used it on 2 occasions for filming. I was told at the time that one of the main characters drives it however having now seen the movie it seems to only appear parked on the driveway in the final scene so whether anyone drove it in scenes that were cut or not I do not know but I am trying to contact the guy from the production company to establish if they did or not. Whatever, at least it made it on to the big screen!
The car itself was supplied new to Japan and is described on the certificate from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust as North American Specification however I believe the Japanese spec is slightly different having electric windows and air conditioning. It also has the internal and external cages as you can see as well as a sunroof. The vehicle itself is in very good condition inside, outside and underneath.
It was manufactured on 19th November 1997 which I believe means it should be possible to import to the US however I don"t have any specific knowledge on this and can"t confirm if it can or can not be imported. It may also be possible under any provision for cars of special interest, ie. movie cars however again I don"t have any knowledge of this. I believe it can definitely be imported by a Registered Importer however there are costs associated with using one of them.
Mechanically the car is in good condition with no faults. The price includes a major service and any other remedial work required by our local Land Rover specialist. The only issue I have currently is that the digital odometer has stopped displaying so I don"t know the exact mileage but it"s around 45,000 miles. I have sent the unit off for repair anyway and will update the listing when I get it back.
We are registered importers and exporters in the UK and can arrange shipping to any US port. We have container loading facilities on our premises.
Please get in touch if you have any questions. .
