Here"s your chance to own a North American Spec 1997 Defender 90 for much less than it"s worth!
I bought this not too long ago with the intention of gradually making it perfect. In the meantime, I have been driving it regularly without issue. Other than the stainless Magnaflow exhaust, it is completely "stock."
The following issues are consistent with what you"ll find on pretty much all Defenders at one point or another factoring variables like climate, salt, mileage, etc: At some point it will need a new frame. Currently, there"s corrosion but I"ve had it inspected and been told it"s fine to drive and to keep an eye on it. The rear bumper also has corrosion but it"s cosmetic The door hinges are showing signs of rust The headliner is sagging a little towards the front of the sunroof (see photo). It can be repaired at a trim shop for far less than replacing it. The clock does not work. Other that normal maintenance, fluid changes, etc., here"s what has been taken care of recently: 88,000 Miles . .Thermostat Replaced 89,000 Miles . .Battery Replaced, Fuel Tank Skid Plate Replaced, Hood Cable Adjustment, E-brake Adjustment, Shifter Illumination Unit Replaced 90,000 Miles . .Right Swivel Ball Replaced, Pitman Arm Replaced, Right Outer Tie Rod Replaced 91,000 Miles . .Front Stabilizer Link Bushings Replaced, Passenger Seat Belt Buckle Replaced, Water Pump Replaced Other than that. . Front brakes have approx 60% left. Rear brakes have approx 70% left. It has a few "dings" (no paint damage) that could be easily and inexpensively removed. The front tires measure approx 6/32" The rear tires measure approx 10/32" The spare tire is new Runs/shifts/steers/drives/stops. .perfectly! Buyer pays shipping.
