Vehicle description
ABOUT This Ford F250 Power Stroke 7,3 has been heavily modified and designed for serious off-road experience. It is packed with features and tools that gives any venturous driver all they can handle. The name of this truck is “Jakinn” which in Icelandic means “The glacier”. Jakinn has been over couple of glaciers in Iceland numerous times and these huge tires and long body enable the truck to spread its weight better over larger surface area that keep it on top.
Jakinn was also one of the trucks in the forefront of “Jarðarför Ferðafrelsisins” (in English “Travel freedom’s funeral”) which was Iceland"s number one 4x4 club (f4x4.is) attempt to challenge the government’s soon-to-be-law. That law would prohibit larger modified trucks access to drive off-road on mountains, glaciers and in the wilderness, which would devastate the 4x4 sport and future expeditions exploring Icelands wilderness.
One the expeditions of f4x4 was to place reflective road sticks along the most difficult and remote roads over the high-lands, where tourists and in-experienced drivers had gotten into trouble staying on course. Jakinn, along with a group of other trucks, placed thousands of reflective road sticks that are still in use today. This truck is the ultimate off-road beast that any adventurer would love to have.
HISTORY The previous owner had an incident in 2004 that damaged the exterior. It was then bought by an icelander and exported to Iceland in early 2005. Many experts and specialists have worked on the truck making it truly unique and iconic.
