“1997 Land Rover Defender 90 station wagon, Coniston Green with grey waterproof seat upholstery and factory AC. This NAS (US production) D90 is collector quality thru out. While maintaining a completely stock appearance inside and out the truck was fitted with a brand new Rover motor built up to 4.9 Liter and 330 HP for more power in areas with steep hills like Utah and CA. Combined with new rear end gearing this Defender gives you modern power for a very usable drive. Cosmetics have been enhanced with a front winch, brush guard, and the factory roof rack which was lowered a few inches to fit in a lower height garage. The exterior is pristine from front to rear, the interior is in as new condition, and the floorboards are all pristine and rust free. The motor upgrade was approximately $50,000 and in total there are receipts for close to $100,000 including motor, cosmetic upgrades, and a modern high end sound system. Vehicle description
1997 Land Rover Defender 90 station wagon, Coniston Green with grey waterproof seat upholstery and factory AC. This NAS (US production) D90 is collector quality thru out. While maintaining a completely stock appearance, about 3,000 miles ago the truck was fitted with a brand new Rover motor built up to 4.9 Liter and 330 HP for more power in areas with steep hills like Utah and CA. Combined with new rear end gearing for better acceleration off the line this Defender gives you more modern power and more usable ride . The motor build and upgrade was done at Willow Auto Service in Chicago one of the most respected and high end shops in the Country. Everything was done keeping a completely stock appearance, and all upgrades were done starting with the most pristine, original and low mile NAS wagon available. All service is fully up to date and this collector quality D90 is ready to go.
A new odometer was installed at 17,234 miles at the time the new rear end gearing was installed in order to get a more accurate read on speed and mileage with the new lower gear ratio. I have the original odometer (showing 17,234) and tons of documentation to show in total this is a 22,000 mile truck since new. Due to the odometer install on carfax it will show up as a "mileage inconsistency" or "not actual mileage" (not uncommon on high end restorations etc).
Inspections are welcomed at my climate controlled storage facility in NJ and I may potentially assist with some leasing options. Having owned many NAS Defenders over the years this is by far one of if not the nicest I have ever seen.
Thanks for looking.
