Selling a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0 XJ 4-DR
4X4
Auto transmission
132,000 miles
I bought it from a city fire agency so they kept it maintained.
I was going to turn it into an off-road, rock crawler, but don’t have the time now with work and taking care of an elderly parent.
The Good
Very low miles for this inline 6-cylinder, 4.0 engine
Clean title, reg until 5/21
New radiator
New front brakes, rotors
New rear hatch pistons
New crank position sensor
New spark plugs, wires (I haven’t installed yet, but included)
New battery
A/C blows cold
Heater works great.
The Bad
Needs a new headliner
Rear drive shaft needs replaced or balanced (local shop quoted me $300 to balance and replace U-joints)
Center console latch broken Sometimes belt squeal when first starting and A/C on… goes away when warmed up. Leaking rear main seal.
There is some rust (see pictures).
Vehicle is priced with these issues in mind.
