Vehicle description

1996 Impala SS: Ultra Low Miles, Excellent Condition
About This Vehicle: You are bidding on a 1996 Impala SS that is in remarkable condition for any vehicle, let along one that is 22 years old. Further, it has only 2,849 miles of very careful, non-abusive, use . It looks like it just came out of the showroom, and runs perfectly. I am the original owner of this Impala SS, which I purchased new in February 1997. It was manufactured on December 11, 1996, two days before Impala SS production ceased. This vehicle has been garaged for the entire period, with the exception of a single night parked in my driveway during garage reorganization. It has never been driven in the rain or snow, and has never been smoked in. This Impala SS has never been professionally detailed; the car is as delivered, as you can see. (All photographs were taken in May 2018.) This 1996 Impala SS is tastefully optioned (as the original GM-to-dealer invoice confirms). The exterior is the preferred black choice, with a gray interior. Also featured as options on this particular vehicle are: Heat Reflective Windshield; AM/FM stereo with CD player; Impala SS Preferred Equipment Group (6-way power passenger seat, auto day/night rearview mirror, illuminated right-hand covered visor mirror, and the Twilight Sentinel headlamp system).
Condition of This Vehicle: The vehicle is 100% original, with just the following exceptions: 1997: the correct rear-end gasket was installed (as the GM factory rear-end gasket did not provide the proper drain-back holes for the rear axles, and the Fel-Pro RDS 55028-1 gasket corrected that known issue); 2017: a new battery installed; 2017: a window regulator roller was replaced for the right front window (a common replacement on all B-body GMs from the mid-1990s). The photos detail that this Impala SS is in impeccable condition. Besides being showroom stock (with the exceptions noted above) and pristine, the vehicle has no known defects. Even the air conditioning still blows ice-cold air after 22 years!
A Classic: Several publications have noted that the 1996 Impala is already a collectable classic, e.g.: Automobile , April 21, 2008: "1994-1996 Chevy Impala SS — Collectible Classic" Automobile , August 28, 2015: "Collectible Classic: 1994-1996 Chevrolet Impala SS" Autoweek , April 10, 2017: "B IS FOR BIG: CHEVROLET IMPALA SS WENT OUT WITH GUNS BLAZING" And they"re certainly not making them like this anymore.
About The Price: The established reserve for this Impala SS is modest. If you review sites such as Hagerty for valuations, you"ll see that this 1996 Impala SS is indeed just starting to appreciate nicely. In Hagerty"s rating schedule, this Impala is easily above "#2 Excellent." The successful bidder"s required deposit, $1,000, is non-refundable.
Second Listing: If you"re an Impala SS aficionado and this listing looks familiar, note that this vehicle was listed on two months ago. Unfortunately, the high bidder was unable to financially complete the transaction.
Delivery: If you are the successful bidder, picking up this vehicle or transporting it from the Albany, NY, area is your responsibility, and at your cost. I will, however, be glad to work with you on this issue. Upon my receiving payment as specified below, I will continue to store the vehicle in my garage for a reasonable agreed-upon period of time.
Good Luck! Bid with confidence, as this 1996 Impala SS  — garaged, and with less than 3,000 miles on the clock — is as close as possible to a showroom-stock barn find as you will ever come across.
