Vehicle description
1994 Jaguar XJ6 VIN: SAJHX1748RC695497
Disclosure: I"m selling this for my friend, only because it"s a very nice classic car. In the past, I have only sold cars that were mine and I knew well. I have driven this Jaguar XJ6 and I can say it"s one of the smoothest rides I have ever enjoyed. I have a 2007 Mercedes S550 and the Jag rides smoother. In 1994, Jaguar got it right.
Same owner since 1996 (Car fax says different owners but it"s been the same owner just different registrations in three states as he moved around. The first owner did a two year lease.
THE GOOD Starts and runs great; great, smooth, ride. Never wrecked or in an accident (Carfax has the details) No leaks No corrosion Regular oil changes and inspections (See Car Fax) Always garaged RPM, oil pressure, temperatures all perfect. A/C works fine VCM checks out - no warning messages (e.g., brake pads) Less than 10,000 miles on the tires Shocks replaced about 30,000 miles ago; working great New battery (6 months), ignition coil and wiring (6 months)
No warning lights or mechanical issues. It idles flawlessly.
THE BAD
Exterior left rear door latch is INOP. However, the door opens perfectly from the inside. It needs a part that"s hard to find. Most of the light bulbs in the center console are out - would take about $5 to buy them and about 6 hours to replace them. It hasn"t been a priority. Driver"s and passenger seat starting to show its age. See pics. Cracks and one rip in the drivers side. Cracking on the passenger side. Insulation under hood in bad shape, but it"s been in bad shape since the day it was purchased in 1996. It hasn"t gotten much worse.
THE UGLY
The heater is needs attention. The gate that opens the vent is closed to the heat. Heat works, it simply cannot pass through the gate. Needs a new part (motor-driven air gate) It may be difficult to find. And it"s buried under the dash; lots of labor will be involved. Not difficult, just time consuming. Could be done by a well-motivated individual; probably doesn"t need a shop.
More photos are available upon request. I took about 30. CarFax is also available from me, no issues.
