Vehicle description
1994 Isuzu Amigo MORE FUN THAN YOU"LL EVER HAVE ON 4-WHEELS!
We have owned this car for about 12 years. When we got it, it had been in an impound lot, and had quite a scandalous history! It had bullet holes in the doors, and was very rough. But it was the ONLY ONE WE COULD FIND. Since that time, we"ve replaced several body panels, grill, headlights, etc etc, and then put a paint job on it. We replaced most of the interior, put a rubber floor-cover down, and have put two new tops on it.
Mechanically, the car was pretty solid. We"ve stayed on the maintenance, and done repairs as necessary. Over the years, we"ve replaced the clutch, the clutch slave cylinder, brakes, shocks, etc etc. I replaced the manual hubs with Auto Hubs, so my wife didn"t have to get out of the car to engage the 4WD on a snowy day.
7 years ago we put Rodeo springs on it to give it a lift, and added the tall tires. The car was a daily-driver for 10 years, but now our kids have their own cars, and my wife and I are addicts. . so we have multiple cars. We need more space, and so we"ve elected to sell the ones that get driven the least. (This particular car has been driven around 1700 miles in the last 17 months.)
We hate to sell the truck. We really, really love it, and it"s been almost a family-member for us, but we just need more room.
The truck is not perfect. It was never intended to be. The paint job has orange-peel and a couple of runs in it. You could probably cut-n-buff, but why? One of my kids backed another of our cars into it in the driveway, leaving a dent in the the left-rear, behind the wheel. (See photos). The body-work was done by my son and I. . it"s not perfect. (I"m a mechanic, not a body-man, haha). We live in a climate where they salt the roads in the winter, and that takes it"s toll on cars; there are some rust spots, though none that aren"t repairable, if you cared to. But to US, the beauty of this truck has always been its "I"m up for anything " attitude. It"s a digger; it"ll go almost anywhere.; the 4WD works incredibly well. It"s reliable: never left anyone stranded in ALL our years of ownership. You can take it out in the hills, use it to tow-out your buddies int heir Broncos, Blazers, JEEPs, etc, and then drive it on home at 75mph with the Air Conditioning on.
It"s INCREDIBLY cheap to own / maintain. Nearly ALL of the parts are interchangeable with the Isuzu Rodeo, so parts are plentiful and cheap. These motors are known for going to a Million Miles, so there"s plenty of life left in it. And if you scratch it, you get to tell another story, and not worry about it.
The truck gets around 16 - 18 MPG, and has a 22 gallon tank. So. . yeah. . you fill it up almost never. haha. Utah tags are current, through October this year.
Comes to you with TWO tops: One that is complete and goes on in the winter, and the other that we cannibalized when the plastic windows cracked, and we turned it into a sort of "Bikini Top". so it covers the back seat and cargo area, but leaves the windows open to the air. It"s nice for rainy-season driving. It takes about 5 minutes to put a top on.
I"m probably forgetting to tell you something. . . but I don"t know what. Please ask questions. I"ll take pictures of specifics, if you send me a request.
I am fine to meet your shipper, but the cost of shipping is on you. Please have cash ready for the transaction before you bid. I"ll expect $500 electronically within 48 hours of Auction Close. The remaining balance will need to clear (CASH in my HAND) before the truck leaves my residence.
