Vehicle description
540i 6-speed Touring BMW 5-Series . Condition is Used. Alpine white exterior with parchment (tan) interior
Black power heated front sport seats.
Clean title
Clean carfax
Originally a 530iT auto.
165k miles on an M60B40 engine and 6 speed Transmission 241k miles on the well maintained chassis - maintenance records dating back to new
Authentic M parallel wheels with Bridgestone Potenzas
Dinan lowering coils and Koni adjustable shocks
Dinan DME chip, I think it claims 300hp
Dual sunroof that works well
Air Conditioning works well
Power height adjustable European Smiley headlights
Authentic and very rare OEM functional front brake cooling valence and ducts. Authentic E34 M5 rear bumper 540i front and rear brakes (I have e34 m5 calipers I"ll toss in as well)
Factory roof rack bars
Currently has a late 90s era CD player, but I have the original radio and trunk mounted OEM CD changer
Full leather door panels
European real dark wood trim with matching shift knob
ASC delete (no more secondary throttle in the intake)
Rear retractable parcel cover I performed the swap about 3 years ago. At the time I replaced most all engine seals and gaskets (oil pan gasket, intake manifold gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, valve cover gaskets, throttle body gasket) new mass air flow sensor, replaced the known m60 problematic oil pump bolts. Since then it"s also gotten a new water pump, thermostat and serpentine belt, exterior door handle trim gaskets. Basic maintenance items mostly. I collected parts for this car to represent what a US 540i M Sport would have been, if it was offered as a wagon. It took a long time to find all of these parts, most of them are NLA from BMW.
Known issues;
The power rear windows just stopped working
Headlamp washers aren"t functioning Driver Airbag lamp is illuminated - which means it is inoperable. I wouldn"t want an airbag from 1994 setting off anyway.
Overall the car is solid for the age and miles. It is not a show car, but you certainly wouldn"t be embarrassed by it! It has a few minor dents, a few minor rock chips and light scuffs. It has lived in the pacific northwest its entire life. First owner had it for 22 years. 2nd and 3rd swapped hands very quickly (
Black power heated front sport seats.
