Vehicle description

1993 Toyota pickup, regular cab, regular bed, R22 engine, 5 speed manual with power steering. I went big on this one.
According to the paperwork that I will supply, I bought this new on 11-2-1993. I bought itfrom Cox Toyota in Burlington, NC. They are still in business. It is as basicas it gets with the exception that it does have power steering and dealer installed AC. It was sometime in in1994, I had the AC installed at the Toyota dealer in Gastonia, NC. It couldhave been 1995. If I remember correctly it cost about $895.00 for the AC. That wasa lot of money for the mid 90’s. I believe I paid $8,000 for the truck. The AC works better than the AC on my 2011 Jetta. In 1996 ithad about 60,000 miles on it and I sold it to my brother-in-law. For the next 20 years it was towed behind a motorhomeand was used sparingly. At the time of purchase he lived in Northern Virginia. Idoubt this vehicle has ever been driven in the snow. The backend is so light itjust does not do well on slippery surfaces. In 2017 I bought it back. I did get a family deal on it. This vehiclehas spent it’s whole life in northern Virginia and the Charlotte NC area. For it’s ageit is in really good condition and currently has 147, 250 miles on it. When Igot it back in August of 2017 it had around 136,000 miles on it. Since gettingit back, I have changed the oil in it 4 times, put on new shock absorbers, hadthe fuel injection system cleaned, new spark plugs, had the tires rotated andbalanced twice, new front grill new wiper blades and last, but not least an inexpensivepaint job which was about $1,000. It is urethane paint. For some reason I donot have the receipt, but I believe I had it done in December of 2017. Inhindsight I wish I would have had the $2,000 paint job. They probably would have taped it better and not let over spray get on my spare tire. Live and learn. With that said, I was satisfied and the paint seems to be holding up well. One other thing. Theseat needed to be recovered but instead of doing that I put on a custom fitseat cover. I took the seat out and put it on with hog rings. As you can seefrom the pictures it looks really good and has held up really well. Better thanexpected. It does not move around. To myknowledge it does not have any serious rust issues. The last 18 inches of the tailpipe has a small hole that I repaired with muffler repair tape. It has your typical, 27year old superficial rust here andthere. I have no idea when the tires were put on. They still have some miles left. They are Uniroyal Tiger paws. If I were to keep it, I would buy a new spare for it. It holds airbut it is 27 years old. The brakes work well but I have not had them checked andI do not know if my brother-in law had them changed and he can"t remember. I am guessing they havebeen changed. Guessing! ! If you wanta daily driver or something to restore this is a great little truck. I say littletruck because it is little. The most remarkable thing about this vehicle is thedash is not cracked and the vinyl floor covering is in great shape. Other than thepaint job this vehicle has not been molested. I had someone put new speakers and cheap BT radio in it.
