I am a private seller. Not a dealer. Please do not ask me about financing, this is a cash/legit money order/cashier check deal only. No Games.
My 1992 Toyota 4x4 Pickup is up for sale.
I call her Ruby. She has 229377 miles on her. And she"s ready for more.
I have had this truck ten years. I bought in her 2008 from a teacher friend who had owned her for fourteen years. The truck had been garage during her years with the teacher. However, the past ten years of parked in the driveway in the hot Sacramento sun has not been good to her paint. She has oxidizing on both the hood and roof.
She has fairly new tires, meaning, probably less than a 1000 miles have been driven on them. Since purchased.
One week after I bought her, someone stole the catalytic converter. She had a few cheap ones installed, but now has the California standard cat. It is welded on.
In the past two years she has spent the majority of her time parked. Since I have been working from home and work with dogs, I used our other vehicles more often.
I kept her oil changed and tuned up, she was never really driven very often, she was my dream truck. I had hoped to fix her up one day. But a mom"s dream is always last.
In February of 2017, her smog came due. It would be possible she may have passed. However, having a husband with no mechanical instincts and his priorities first, she sat. She was registered, just not smogged. The beginning of this year 2018, I personally began what should have been done the year before, oil changed, a real good tune-up. However, I was told by the mechanic that she my have trouble passing due to the old gas build up in her lines.
Well he was right, she failed smog. She runs amazing, better than I could have imagined, but she still failed smog.
She pass every aspect, except the ERG functional. She measured 700 where only 623 was allowed. When I looked up how to fix it, it didn"t seem bad. So I prepared to have her fixed.
And then my dam husband got a DUI. To bail his truck, was the money I had saved for fixing my truck. This all happened within days, it really sucked. (I"m not making this crap up)
I debated several times about "not" selling my truck. My husband told me it would be okay, no, it"s not, that was that last straw of "mom" waiting for her stuff to be taken care of last. When dealing with alcoholics, you are always the one who is last. Enough is enough.
Now I have no choice. I need something that can drive me, my daughter, all my dogs and guest dogs.
Sadly, Ruby does not work for my needs. She was always my project truck. Even, right now, if I had another way I would use it. I really love my truck.
I"m hoping to find a person that can take to time and get her back to glory days. Buff her up, get new interior, maybe raise her up or add accessories.
If you need more information about my truck. .ask.
I can send video of her running if you"d like, there is not problem with that.
Please only serious buyers. This is not a commuting truck. She is meant to be fixed up and shown off. Even if it means off roading.
