I have it insured with Hagerty; for $280 bucks a year and the rated replacement coverage is $8,500. 1992 marked the final production year for the Third Generation platform. These convertibles were sent out from the factory as hardtops and turned into convertibles by ASC conversion company. It is loads of fun to drive around on a Sunday afternoon. I read somewhere that just over 500 1992 Firebird convertibles were made in this red color. It is 3.1 liter with after market cold air intake. It runs and drives great. It is in daily driver condition and is turnkey ready to drive anywhere. I have kept it garaged and only drive it on nice sunny afternoons. I will try my best to point out any and every detail I can think of on it that would be considered negative or a problem cause I don't want the buyer to have any surprises with it. So I am going to pick on it pretty hard. Starting with the convertible top. Its probably original and is in poor condition and will need replaced at some point if you desire. I have been happy with it just the way it is since its not a daily driver and is garage kept. You will be able to see details in the pictures. The top is a factory manual top so you have to let it up and down yourself. There are a couple latches in the back to release it and one is broke so it has a cable attached that you just pull on. I will include it in the pics too. It has chips and scratches all over like any 29 year old car would. There are some small places where the paint needs touched up on the lower front end and I will try to get that in the pics also. THERE IS NO RUST ON IT ANYWHERE! It is not a show car but looks nice when cruising around with the top down. The tires are all in good condition but one or two of them do not match brands and one of them is not white letter like the others. The power windows work fine as well as the electric locks. All of the lights and signals work great and the brakes work well. It runs down the road nice and smooth. The wipers work well. The A/C was blowing cold this summer but may be a little low on freon. It also got stuck on defrost and won't return to vent when switched to A/C. It has been converted to the new style freon 134-A. It has an after market cold air intake and the original is in the trunk. It does not have a spare tire. The hide-away headlights work great and have been completely rebuilt. It has had a recent tune up with all new plugs, wires and ignition components. The battery and alternator and belt was replaced last year. The tilt steering works fine but seems a little wobbly if you pull hard on the column up and down. It does not affect the driving and is not noticeable unless you pull hard up and down on the column. The interior is in average condition and has some dirty areas in the back seat. The carpet on the hump between the back seats looks real dirty but its actually where the heat from exhaust or drive shaft has kind of melted the bottom of the carpet over the years. No rips or tears in the seats or door panels. No cracks in the dash. Overall it will need a professional cleaning on the interior if you so desire. The vents are dirty as you can see in some of the pics. The sun-visors look pretty tattered and the new owner may want to recover them in the future. It has around 113,000 miles on it but the title says 119,000 because we accidentally wrote the wrong mileage in a long time ago when titling it. . Its exempt anyway due to the age but either way the miles are original and the title is clear from Indiana. It has mobile one fully synthetic oil and filter in it and does not consume oil. I would not be afraid to drive it to California from here. It comes with a full service repair manual and owners manual. It has a nice after market AM/FM CD player. Just get it in and drive. Like I said above it is not a show car, it is 29 years old and has faults so don't expect it to be in showroom condition; But, it still turns heads everywhere I go.
