Vehicle description
I listed this on in June and it got a lot of interest but did not hit the reserve. I decided to take it off the market and enjoy it during the summer but in those 2+ months I put about 100 miles on it. Since I"m not enjoying a fun car with T-tops in the summer then it is time someone else should so I am relisting this with the same information as before but with a lower reserve. I did add a couple of pictures of the cosmetic flaws and expanded on the minor accident it was in. The car is awesome and I don"t wish to dwell on the negatives however I want to be clear about its issues as most questions I got were about those topics.
Original auction:
I am the original owner of this 2001 Firebird Formula SLP Firehawk. I picked it up from Dan Cummins Pontiac in Paris, KY in December 2000. It is arctic white with black leather interior and a 6 speed manual transmission. It is in very good condition for it"s age and mileage (112k).
It has always been garaged and most of the miles are on the Interstate. Unfortunately, I don"t drive it much so it"s time to for it to go to a new home. I have always been an enthusiast of Pontiac so I hope the new owner will appreciate the extra items I have for this rare vehicle. I have only seen 2 Firehawks (both Trans Ams) on the road since I bought this car almost 18 years ago!
This is build # 215 out of 540 total Firehawks built for 2001 (504 for US). 39 of those were Formula w/T-top and only 7 were Arctic white. . (more production information available at www.firehawk.org)
Included: - clear title - all original documentation from the dealership and SLP - window sticker (never put on the vehicle) - maintenance history since 0 miles - set of factory service manuals - 2 key fobs - T-top shades (never used) - SLP car cover (never used. . still sealed in box) - SLP deck mats (never used) - original keyed lug nuts (took them off for fear I"d lose the key and not be able to get the lug nuts off in an emergency) - Road and Track magazine featuring a test of a Trans Am Firehawk
Tires: Cooper Zeon RS3-R 275/40R17 (excellent tread remaining)
The only non-original part is the skip-ship eliminator. I added a CD changer in the rear that is the same as the factory unit and controllable through the steering wheel.
Flaws: - split in the top of the driver"s side plastic door panel - paint delamination on the fiberglass hood where the hood-release is located - scuff on the front bumper (driver"s side) - curb scuff on 3 wheels (worst one pictured) - radio light may dim at times but not affect the radio"s functionality
The vehicle has only been in one accident. My neighbor backed into the passenger side quarter panel while the car was parked. The rear bumper was replaced and the steel quarter panel was repaired. I ran at AutoCheck report and it is reported in May 2011. That report should be available in this listing but if not I can send a copy. I consider the repair to be very good. Unfortunately, the Firehawk decal that goes below the tail light on the passenger side was not available at the time of the body work so it was left off and I never ordered a new one. I do not have pictures of the damage as they were lost after a phone change.
I"m available to show the car almost anytime so please contact me to setup a time. I"ve been as open and honest as I can about this vehicle but I welcome any questions you may have. Please let me know what additional information I can provide to help you bid with confidence.
It"s difficult to let a car like this go since Firehawks are rare and Formula 6-speed Firehawks are even more rare. Also being that it is a one-owner car with all documentation then I know these don"t come up for sale often but I would rather someone have fun with it than for it to continue to sit in the garage.
