Vehicle description
Very stock 1990 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62, Alpine White with gray interior, no dash cracks, driver seat good. From what I can tell, a Texas truck since purchased new from Toyota of Irving(Dallas). I have a large folder of receipts for work performed since 2007 (know this is important to those of you that know how much deferred maintenance these trucks can have). All OEM glass in truck, 4WD engages/disengages without issue, 4WD light on dash works. Vehicle is kept in home garage when not being driven. PERTWO OWNERS AGO (with some receipts) 2007 – New radiator, Master cylinder, EGR system rebuilt with vacuum lines, fuel tank recall done (I have documentation) with new fuel pump. 2009 – New front axle seals 2010 – New clutch plates in auto (OEM), new rear main seal 2011 – Throttle and kick down cable replaced 2013 – New ignition ignitor, new BFG KO’s (207k) 2014-2015 Glass-out respray, blocked and sanded to remove door dings. A lot of new seals, new rocker molding (snake blinders), new rear bumper with caps (OEM), lenses, side markers, gutters sanded and sealed and a new hood (OEM). 2015 – Top end engine work done. New OEM rings, values and seals. Cylinders honed and OEM cast iron rings installed. Most pulleys, water pump, thermostat, engine seals like side cover, oil pan and rear main. Also installed were new plugs, cap, wires and rotor. New cold start switch and injectors rebuilt. AC converted to 134 and original compressor rebuilt, new drier and one line. PER PRIOR OWNER (with receipts) F ront axle rebuild with knuckles and seals, tie rods ends, brakes all around with calipers, wheel cylinders, rotors, pads, master and replaced one backing plate (work performed at Javier"s in Houston) (May 2016, 213,245 miles) Bilstein 4600 all around and OEM steering dampener OEM front bumper with end caps Transfer case rebuild with new OEM (only a couple exist) drive and idler gears along with inspection of rear main seal and replaced, and replacement of output shaft in auto tranny and overdrive frictions (12/16) Oil and filters changed, diffs and transfer case also, new e brake cable, new sway bar bushings front and rear. New fuel gauge New drivers side power mirror. Passenger side was replaced with non-motorized version to preserve the finish on the OEM which I have to go with truck. Installed new OEM chrome gutter trim Rear drive shaft balanced and u joints 2-8/17 New kickdown cable installed and adjusted Power Antenna rebuilt Installed springs off younger truck, replaced all suspension bushings with OME greaseable and new shackles (OEM length) 12/17 Auto tranny filter cleaned and ran at 190 degrees after 30 mile trip (per shop) 1/5/18 new catalytic converters installed LOTS of little things that would fill pages like shifter grommets to stop that wobble on gear selector, dash lights, 4WD vacuum switches, E brake cable, various lights/lenses, grille pieces, gas door spring SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE (Jan 23, 2018, with receipts) Mileage at purchase – 214,705 Current mileage – 221,400 Purchased an original (used) toolkit from CruiserParts as there was not one with the vehicle when I bought it. (Feb 2018) Replaced rear differential seal (July 2018) New power steering lines and steering control box (April 2019) Resealed front main, rear main, transmission pan gasket, oil pan gasket (April 2019) New crankshaft pulley assembly (April 2019 New distributor and related parts (cap and rotor) (April 2019) New igniter assembly (April 2019) Tune up (April 2019) New transmission lines (April 2019) New coolant hose (April 2019) New radiator (old one leaking) (May 2019) New 4 Lo and 4 Hi sensors and resealed transfer case (July 2019) Fuel injectors cleaned and new fuel filter(July 2019) New input shaft bearing installed and resealed transfer case (Sept 2019) I believe all parts used in repairs under my ownership are OEM with the exception of the distributor body (not available as OEM) and transmission lines. The input shaft bearing was a challenge to source, but mechanic (Goode"s Off-Road) wanted to go new instead of repurposing a used one from a used transfer case. I’ve done a lot of significant mechanical work in a relatively short amount of time, which was a result of us turning what was a garage queen into a daily driver. Not a lot of miles each day, but it is driven to work or school every day. All work was done at Toyota of Dallas and Goode’s Off-Road in Dallas. Toyota of Dallas had Goode’s do some of the more complicated work and I ended up moving all work to Goode’s because Toyota of Dallas goofed up a reseal job that Goode’s had to fix for them. Goode"s is owned/operated by a master Toyota mechanic that went out on his own and works primarily on older Land Cruisers. He’s the real deal on these vehicles and very fair. Known issues andother information Slow power windows. They work, just a bit slow. Consensus from mechanics is that this is a result of the rubber getting hard over the years. That can be replaced, but haven’t had a need to as they work. Drivers door latch is a bit sticky when it gets colder. A bit of spray lubricant loosens it up if it gets to the point where it bothers me. Had Goode’s take a look at it and he said all the parts are intact and functioning properly, so nothing to repair. Power locks hit and miss, so the relay was removed, may need new one A portion of the fuse box cover is broken off. It is still functional and stays in place. Have ordered a replacement and that will go with the sale. The bezel that surrounds the automatic transmission gear shift is cracked. I have ordered a replacement and it will go with the sale. Speaker cover in driver door doesn’t stay in place. The bottom pins that lock it in place are broken, so it pops off easily. Haven’t bothered to order a replacement. I have a new carpet kit that the previous owner gave me that will go with the sale. Existing carpet is worn, but no holes and haven’t seen a need to replace to this point. I also have the side mirror referenced in the previous owner section that will go with the sale Vehicle is also for sale locally. Auction will be ended by owner if local sale is completed before end of auction.
