Vehicle description
One of a kind 1989 Toyota Pickup Truck up for sale. DLX model with extended cab, bullet-proof 4-cylinder 22re engine, and 4x4 with locking hub cabs. Clean NJ title and no rust on the car including the frame since it was a west coast truck for many years.
Car has a great back story as it was originally bought in Guam by a US military officer back in 1989 (thus the “Good Move Guam Toyota” sticker still on the rear window) and eventually shipped back to the US where it sat in storage for many years on the west coast. Eventually, the owner’s wife had it serviced top to bottom at the local Toyota dealership about 5 years ago. It was close to $4K in work and I have the detailed receipts. The son drove it to the East coast and sold it to a buddy whom I bought it from earlier in the year, so I’m the 3rd owner.
Car runs amazing with no major issues including oil leaks or burning and has 120K original miles on the 22RE which can run for a few hundred more.
Truck had significant sun damage to the clear coat from its time in Guam (see the last picture) so I had it repainted the original color and had the stripes professional installed. Completed a bunch of small stuff including new windshield, new exhaust, change the rims, and the replaced the dashboard as the old padding was cracking. Otherwise all original.
There are 5 or so small dings including a few on the tailgate, some stains/rips on the front seats, and the AC doesn’t work, likely due it sitting in storage for 5-10 years, but otherwise ready to go and could be a daily driver. Also 2 small rust spots on the front bumper (see pictures) and the lower skid plate is bent a little. Easy to replace but I just didn’t have time to search local junkyards for replacement parts.
It looks like a new car and gets alot of attention wherever I go. I don"t drive it regularly so prefer to sell it and have someone else enjoy it. Cash or bank check only. Car is located in Northern NJ and happy to allow serious buyers to inspect the truck prior to purchase. Car can be shipped by buyer is responsible for cost and logistics. Due to non paying issues in the past, $500 non-refundable deposit due within 24 hours of the end of the auction.
