I"m putting up for sale, my 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 because I can no longer hold onto it. I purchased it last year hoping to restore the truck to showroom condition, but unfortunately I became a victim of the California Thomas Fire. Fortunately, the truck at that time was in the shop for 3 months getting a lot of work done to it. All the work done to it was under the hood, transmission, rotors, brakes, etc. The body and interior is in great shape, just needed some attention as it is an old fellow. The shop, TLC, (www.tlc4x4.com) specializes in old land cruisers and is well known for their high quality workmanship. Now, it is sitting in my girlfriend"s garage and it is time to let it go.
I bought it last year from an elderly guy in Texas and he bought it from a family friend. I am the 3rd owner and have put less than 1000 miles it, including the miles driven by the restoration shop, and including the 350 miles since its been out 2/13/18.
Everything works. power windows, power door locks, power sideview mirrors, power antenna A/C blows cold, gears shift very smooth. All glass is original, but does have a few chips in the windshield.
The body is rust free and has been garage kept since I"ve owned it. The seats are all in great shape with light wear and no rips or tears. the rims are in great shape and the tires are almost brand new. The dashboard is free of cracks.
There are a few cosmetic flaws on the body. The original roof rack is missing 2 middle rails, the original pin striping has been removed, so there are traces of that. there are a few scratches and bruises in the tint and body, but nothing major for a 30 year old truck. The headliner has a few spots, but no tears. below the gas tank door is a bit faded, but hardly noticeable. I think it was from the gas spilling out, thats my guess. The windshield has rubber sealant around the lower drivers side corner, but is only minor and doesn"t leak. I have included photos of these. The drivers side mirror (glass) rattles, but works. There is also the usual oil leak, but a few drops after its been driven. I had to make a decision to put my money elsewhere after the fire, but this is an easy fix by a mechanic.
I have invested over 13k into this project in addition to the purchase price and quite sad to have to list it. I have the itemized paperwork the shop has done, but it is too much to list. I can send you photos of that, as well as additional photos upon request. For some reason, some of the photos are a bit unclear, but I can email any photos requested by email and it comes out clear.
Some key repairs are:
New Radiator, 2 New Brake Drums, P/S Pump, Remanufactured Alternator, Cat Converters, Power Steering Pump, Heater Hoses, Thermostat, Rear Window Regulator and much more.
