Vehicle description

For sale is my 1988 Merkur XR4Ti. This is a 2-owner, rust-free car with verified 80k miles. This car was the American version of the Ford Sierra XR4i sold in other markets. It was hand-built in Germany by Karmann Coachworks. It is equipped with a 175-hp, turbocharged 2.3L 4-cylinder SOHC engine mated to a 5-speed manual Type-9 Ford gearbox. An intercooled variant of this engine was also used in the Ford Mustang SVO and Ford Thunderbird TurboCoupe. The interior is in excellent condition for its age, and does have leather heated seats, a sunroof, and many nice features. Everything on the car works well, including the air conditioning (blows very cold), heated seats, power windows, power locks, radio, lights, etc. The car runs and drives wonderfully, and spools up to full boost without issue. All services have been kept up on including but not limited to: -5-year battery (6/14/2015) -Oil Change (6/15/2015) -Air Filter (6/16/2015) -Spark Plugs and Wires (6/21/2015) -MerkurDepot Shorty Aluminum Radiator/Intercooler, Flush/Refill Coolant (7/15/2016) -New Tires (Kuhmo KR26) (9/25/2015) -Replace Front Brake Pads, Rotors, Wear Sensors (10/5/2015) -Replace All Shock Absorbers (KYB GR-2) and Front Springs (MC2 Racing, 200lb/in) (10/29/2015) -Flush and Refill Power Steering System (1/27/2016) -Flush and Refill Brake Fluid (1/27/2016) -Replace PCV Valve (Motorcraft) (2/5/2016) -Oil Change (6/10/2016) -Replace Water Pump, Thermostat, and Gaskets (10/28/2016) -Replace Valve Cover Gasket (Motorcraft Metal/Rubber for 2.3 Ranger) (11/1/2016) -Replace Rear Brake Shoes, Resurface Rear Brake Drums, Replace Brake Hardware, Replace Rear Brake Cylinders, Bleed Rear Brakes (1/13/2017) -Replace Clutch, Pressure Plate, Throwout Bearing, Pilot Bearing (4/6/2017) -Drain and Refill Transmission Fluid (4/6/2017) -Replace Expansion Valve, Low Pressure (elongated) AC Hose, and AC Receiver/Dryer, AC System Evacuated, Vacuum-Tested, and Recharged with R134a (car was previously converted from R22) (4/28/17) The original radiator was replaced with an all-aluminum “shorty” radiator combined with an intercooler. The intercooler has not been piped but is installed. The radio was replaced by previous owner for one with an aux port, USB connection, and remote control. The main issues with the car are cosmetic. The car was resprayed from Rosso Red to Regency Red Metallic by the previous owner, and the condition of the paint is poor. From more than 15 feet or so, the paint looks fine, but up close it is dull, cracking in some places, and has rock chips. Body damage is minimal, there is one small (3in diameter) dent on the front left fender and one at the bottom edge of the rear hatch. Other than that just small things. The dashboard is bubbling in some places and has one crack. Overall, this is a very nice example of a great car. Please let me (Alex) know if you have any questions at 913-687-5233. Thank you for looking.
