1987 Toyota SR5 Truck For Sale. Time capsule I bought from the adult child of the original owner of over 30 years is my understanding. I bought this truck for the purpose of re-selling it. I enjoy helping get these classics into the hands of collectors and enthusiasts. Not perfect, but you hardly see these anymore in this kind of condition. If you"ve always wanted to own one of these or remember them as basically the coolest truck from the 80"s like I did - Here is a chance to own yours.
The Good: - very minimal rust for this vintage of Toyota Truck - bed and body is in remarkably good condition. - Interior is clean and neat with minimal wear and no unusual smells - New A/T tires - Engine bay looks original and complete. - Runs well, no smoke on startup or acceleration and drives straight down the road. - Mechanically sound - drove it 150 miles the day I picked it up. - lights & electrical seem to be all working as they should. - Sunroof
Needs some attention: - muffler needs replacement, has a bit of a rumble. - A/C is all there but isn"t blowing cold that I can tell - probably needs service if you want AC. - There is a rust bubble above the passenger rear wheel well, (see photo) a common problem with these trucks, but this would be a straight forward repair if the owner chose to fix it. - There are a couple other minor rust spots that could be cleaned up easily enough. - I can"t get the tailgate to open, the body panels and gaps are all straight and true, I don"t know if the linkage is disconnected or what, haven"t spent much time on it honestly.
My opinion is this is a great truck as is and that a buyer could go as far as they wanted with it as far as restoration to original or modification.
Low reserve. Winning bidder needs to deposit $500 within 24 hrs and make payment arrangements within 3 days. I have the clean/clear title in hand. Seller will reasonably assist in the delivery/transport of the vehicle and local pickup is also a good option.
