Vehicle description
1987 Jaguar XJ6 Series III – The last of the Classics I purchased this car at the height of the 2020 Pandemic to tinker on and drive. This vehicle is now ready for a new owner as I have to focus on my day job! The automobile drives very well and doesn’t smoke. Powered by the original 4.2-liter dual overhead cam XK inline-six paired with a three-speed Borg-Warner automatic transmission, finished in British Racing Green with a biscuit leather interior and sporting period-correct Dayton Chrome Wire Wheels. Like most Jaguars of the era and due to age, the motor, transmission and differential seep a bit but driving is a pleasure and she stops on a dime. There are a few lingering issues to be addressed by the next owner at their discretion: The A/C does NOT work. The Cruise Control does NOT operate. There is a small crack on the passenger’s side of the windshield. Only the LEFT HAND TANK WORKS [driver’s side]. The right hand tank is empty and crusty. I don’t use the RH tank obviously and only fill the LH tank. I don’t mind but just have to fill the tank more often since the car operates at half the fuel capacity. Starts on first crank when engine is warm – two cranks when cold Remote horn button because original push was intermittent (like most Lucas connections) Please note that this is NOT a Honda and should not be expected to act as one. I don’t know much of the history except that the car spent most of its life in South Carolina. The body is very solid although the paint has plenty of flaws making this car a ‘10-footer’. No warranty exists. I am a private seller. Buyer responsible for pick up. Clean Virginia Title.
