Vehicle description
For sale is my 1987 Buick Grand National WE2 3.8 liter V6 turbo with automatic transmission. It currently has 66K miles on the odometer, well documented with binder full of documentation from the various owners as well as pictures from my time owning it that comes with the car. I"m also including a tote filled with extra parts for the car, which, came with the car when I got it. The car is mostly original with few modifications. I"m selling due to fact that I have quite a few cars in my collection and don"t really time the time to enjoy this one, plus I don"t have indoor storage space for it.
FEATURES ON THE CAR: - air conditioning - cruise control - power windows - power locks - power driver seat - Kenwood am/fm radio CD/MP3 player (aftermarket) - factory digital dash - T-tops
THE GOOD POINTS: - new dual exhaust with chrome tips installed this year - runs and drives great (except rough idle at times) - hardly any rust - undercarriage in great shape - new dual exhaust with chrome tips installed on 2/27/18 - low 66K miles - mostly original
MODIFICATIONS: - aftermarket gauges mounted in console (like that when I got the car) - I switched out the black buick tri-shield horn emblem because the red T emblem matched the red floor mats I had been using in it. I do not know what I did with the original horn emblem. - the original power master braking unit had issues a long time ago so I swapped it out for a Monte Carlo braking system. It works fine. I do not have the original power master unit. - K&N air filter (non cold air intake) - dual exhaust with chrome tips
THE BAD POINTS: - needs paint - needs new AC compressor - needs new bumper fills - needs seats redone (rips on drivers seat and rear seats)- - needs new T-top seals (used petroleum jelly on them awhile back and that stopped the leaking for the most part) - plastic dash piece that meets up against the windshield is cracked - VIN number is rusty due to water leaking from T-tops (it is still readable) - rough idle at times, seems to get better the more it gets driven. Check engine light comes on because of this, but goes out as soon as the car gets moving again. Somebody told me it"s probably a crank sensor. - missing emblems on body of car except for on fenders - stress crack on drivers side sail panel - window tint is bad, needs to be removed - drivers side door sags a bit - front turn signal lenses have hairline cracks in them - rust stains on rear seatbelts - passenger side seat is froze up, won"t slide. - valve cover gaskets need to be replaced - hood struts are getting weak - smoke comes from around the engine upon start up/idling (car rarely gets started and driven, also valve cover gaskets need replacing)
OVERALL: This is what I would consider fair condition. It"s a nice, solid, drivable project, that can be enjoyed and fixed up over time. It will need a lot of cosmetic work to do well at a car show. On the very plus side, this car is rich in history due to fact that the owners kept a lot of documentation on the car and it was passed down from owner to owner.
TERMS: Deposit of $500 must be made within 24 hours of listing ending. Car must be paid in full and funds must clear my bank before you can take possession of the car. I accept cash and certified check. Car must be picked up within 7 days after listing ends, unless a prior agreement is reached. Car is located in Louisville, Kentucky and is being sold as is, no warranty. Buyer is responsible for picking up the car or shipping it.
