Vehicle description

Lost my garage space so it needs to go!
1986 TVR 280i. Low mileage for year (35,000 miles). Can be run as full convertible as shown in pic or with the rear targa top up in cooler weather.
Only around 500 model year 1986 TVR 280is were hand made in Blackpool, England. Look up Wikipedia writeup on TVR Tasmin for full details on this unique piece of British sports car manufacturing.
Interior features real wood dash, full instrumentation, electric windows, good condition leather faced seats, clear rear plastic window. Hand laid Fiberglas body with ladder frame.
Bosch fuel injected German Ford V6 with 4 speed manual transmission. Power front and rear disc brakes. Rear suspension is independent with inboard disks, a la Jaguar. Note that steering is rack and pinion manual, not power.
German Ford V6 was also used in some period Volvos and rear end is same Salisbury inboard rear disc setup used in many Jaguars so those parts are pretty much available. Comes with some spares like electric window winders, etc.
Full documentation from new, including original window sticker and manufacturer"s certificate of origin, ownership chain to me, factory service and parts manuals, and service history notebook.
Also includes factory full size and space saver spares, cover for targa top.
Some clear coat discoloration as shown in pic of nose. Air conditioning is all there but does not blow cool. May need charge or other service. Door lock key does not work. Some rust on chassis.
Not a show car. A nice daily driver. You can own a unique bit of British history for the price of a clapped out MGB.
Sale is as is, where is. No warranty. Will ship within lower continental United States if buyer makes and pays for arrangements. Car will be released upon my bank stating there is no further recourse against payment.
$750 non-refundable deposit due within 2 business days after end of auction. Final payment by cash or cashier"s check drawn on U.S. bank. No foreign checks or buyers, even with U.S. shipping destination.
Prior auction winner couldn"t complete, so all have another chance. Happy bidding.
