About this vehicle This 1986 Toyota Pickup is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle is drivable and is not regularly driven. Vehicle Details Increasingly rare 1986 Toyota Base Pickup. 87" bed. Great running no frills Southern truck with a rare factory automatic transmission! Very few non-original parts. No power crap to go bad! Human powered steering & locks! No pesky air conditioning! I have spent quite a lot of time and money bringing this truck back from the brink. Someone was trying to turn it into a giant speaker box and ran out of money or patience. They had wrapped the entire interior of the bed with household insulation and particle board and topped it all off with carpet. The truck was vandalized when they couldn't get it running. They busted out nearly every piece of glass on her. :( It being located in Florida, the wood, carpet and insulation absorbed humidity and rain caused a few rust spots in the inside of the bed. I ripped all that mess out and touched up the rust spots. I fiberglassed up spots on the bottom corners of the windshield before installing new glass. The tailgate is repairable as well as some light bubbles on the rear quarter panel of the bed midway up on a seam The paint is failing from an expired decades old spray job. I touched up any bare metal with some close colored Ace Hardware spray paint. She won't win any beauty contests but will fire up every time. Two quick pumps of the gas pedal and she will fire up every time with no smoking, knocks or hesitation. She purrs like a kitten. I dropped the fuel tank, flushed out the ethanol varnish, flushed out the fuel lines and installed a new fuel filter, dropped the transmission pan, changed the fluid and filter, new engine oil and filter, I replaced any questionable vacuum lines, new cap, rotor and NGK Spark plugs, newer alternator and battery, new windshield and both side windows, muffler, front calipers, brake booster and master cylinder assemblies, front turn signal lights, headlights, driver's side mirror and I just had the carburetor remanufactured by National Carburetor. The sale includes a color matched fiberglass topper if you want, but all of the glass will have to be replaced. The stereo was stolen while waiting for the tow truck, but I was able to find a replacement surround and even a stereo installation kit for it. The front windshield is missing one side piece of chrome and most all of the plastic clips which died of old age. The remaining chrome is behind the seat along with the cheap plastic intake hose Toyota used. I found a replacement for it but it really isn't necessary. The truck is located in Jacksonville, FL 32207. I haven't driven it much. I just wanted to bring it back to life enough for someone to give it love!
