Vehicle description
This is an analog car, and it might not be the car for you. It has no airbags, no power windows, no ac. It’s rear wheel drive, 5speed manual transmission, however, it does have power steering and heater and four wheels. It’s a car for people who enjoy driving, getting back to basic where there just you and the road. It gets smiles per mile. It’s the time machine of your glory days.
This is 1986 Toyota corolla twincam 16 valves AE86. Very fun to drive. Weight only 2200lb. It’s has a high rev peppy engine that makes beautiful sounds. Start up every time and super reliable. It hug corners. The body is very solid for 32 years old classic. It had a lower mileage Jdm 16v 4age Engine was installed April this year, and I drove it 1800 miles since the swap. Many new parts was installed: brand new clutch, break booster, new tires , gas tank, drive shaft center bearing, obx header and cat back exhaust. Kyb agx adjustable shocks and intrax springs. Runs good. Transmission is solid. Engine runs great. Paint need a good buff. Interior is original and worn. Seats has rip.
A bit of it history. I always like the Ae86, this is my 5th one. I enjoy restoring cars as a hobby. I searched for a long time for the right one without rust. I found this 99% rust free 1986 corolla GTS coupe in North Carolina in August 2017. It had a Nissan Ka24 swap from a 240sx, the last owner swapped it because he thought it was cool, but it wasn’t. I’m a purist, I like original. I bought it and trailer it back to Massachusetts. I began a long search for Ae86 parts to return it back original. It was expensive and very hard. I bought parts from Japan, Europe and USA. Non cracked dash, 4age 16v engine, t50 transmission, wiring harness and Ecu, drive shaft, clutch, light weight flywheel, break booster, power steering line, gas tank, fuel pump, fuel sender units. Tires, Koni front strut, Kyb adjustable shocks. Grant steering wheel, door cards. Belts, Spark plugs and valve cover gasket. Obx header and cat back exhaust. It was in April 2018 when I removed the Nissan engine out for the 4age. I’m living my glory days again and drive it every where. Every where I go, people loves it; some want to buy it. The car gets way too much attention. I have 4 other vehicles and they are being neglected. Yesterday i drove it 5 hours to Vermont and back crushing at 72mph on the highway. In the near future I’m relocating for a new job, and I have to rid of my toys. That is why I’m selling it. This is a great deal for a rare legendary classic Ae86 with all the hard work already done. Just get in and drive.
