Vehicle description
1986 Subaru BRAT GL 4x4.65k miles. Excellent condition!
ZERO RUST. A few cracks in the dash, expected for a 1986 Subaru.
Doing my best to incorporate answers to some of the questions I"ve received via messenger into the description:
- This unit was on display and in storage at AT Subaru in Sellersville PA (a Subaru dealer) for many years.
- It was professionally repainted by that dealer and looks SPECTACULAR in a 1986 Subaru Brat Original Color. - In this case Willow Green Metallic, code 539 / W8461
- Recently upgraded with FACTORY Subaru AC system BRAND NEW old stock factory correct for the unit.
- YES, it was a BRAND NEW OLD STOCK factory AC system new in cardboard crate. - Packing list, directions, boxes are available to buyer.
- NO, it"s not missing the jump seats.
For those who don"t know, Subaru was forced to discontinue the jump seats in 1986 due to lobbying from competitors to have them declared unsafe and enforce "import truck tax" often called the "chicken tax". So, many 1986 units and all 1987 units DID NOT have them. This is ultimately what killed the BRAT in the USA in 1987, because the additional tax made it too costly for the market. It continued elsewhere through 1993 when the body style changed.
A few bed scuffs, I suggest (and may even) cover the bed with spray liner or rubber mat.
It needs a CV boot replacement. Front passenger side inner.
I have the boot. If I have the time, I"ll install it, otherwise the buyer will need to do it.
PA Inspected until September 2021, insured, runs TERRIFIC!
Carburetor recently cleaned, two CV boots recently replaced.
Fresh oil change, plugs, wires, cap and rotor.
VERY Drivable!
