Vehicle description
Relisting due to the last high bidder thinking the car was in Los Angeles. The car is in Alameda, Ca. : The San Francisco Bay Area.
Up for grabs is my 1985 Mercedes Benz 300D Turbo model , 123 4 door sedan.
I"ve had 8 or 9 123 diesels over the years , and this one is by far the quietest running , and smoothest shifting one I"ve owned.
She really shows well, and gets the thumbs up from strangers everyday , everywhere.
The turbo really gives the vehicle plenty of boost , and on any of my trips to Southern California , this baby flew over the Grapevine with zero problems.
She doesn"t leak or burn too much oil . . much less then most
I"ve put in a fair bit of work to this "ol girl in the time I"ve owned her:
New brakes all the way around (5 months ago)
New tires including spare (2 years ago , still at roughly 75%)
Brand new glow plugs , a very expensive job , but quite worth it
new rear axle
new battery
Oil and Fuel filters religiously changed every 2000 miles
Her power sunroof works
all power windows work with the exception of the driver side rear which put very recently (I suspect the switch but haven"t had a chance to check)
She has the Merceds jack , lug wrench and a full size spare tire
All owners manuals
Blaupunkt detachable face Stereo am/fm CD
A few extra filters , transmission filter fuses , bulbs etc.
AC: nope
Heat: yep
Registration: current
The Odometer reads 162,000 , but it"s not working. My mechanic (German Auto in Alameda) said , judging by the smoothness of the motor , his guess would be somewhere around 2-250,00. miles. For a 123 . . that is just getting started.
Title is Salvaged. She had a fender bender at some point in her life , but it"s pretty hard to tell where. One or two little rust spots . .but she looks pretty darned good.
These cars run forever and this one is no exception.
She runs perfect, gets great milage and is a vintage classic.
