About This Vehicle 1985 Ford F-250 7.5 460 V8 You are bidding on a 1985 Ford F250 that I purchased from the original owner’s cousin in 2016. This was a single owner truck since its original purchase in 1985 at Fuller Ford El Cajon in San Diego. The owner kept HANDWRITTEN meticulous maintenance records since the original purchase, you can see a sample in the picture above. This had been a contest winner due to its incredible condition. The paint clear coat had started to peel so the only item we were going to need was a complete repaint. I purchased the truck as a one-week driver for shows and run around since it was one in a million. Out of an abundance of caution I rented a storage parking lot in Fallbrook California to keep it safe and off the road while we found a storage garage. In August of 2018 in complete irony, a gentleman with a 16ft trailer backed into the truck side swiping it from the front driver’s quarter panel all the way down to the bed while it was "safely" parked. After that, a huge battle with his insurance ensued. It took over a year to finalize a settlement and the insurer totaled the truck. So ended the condition of a once mint piece of history. See the pictures of the Marti Report, along with the ORIGINAL LIFETIME OIL CHANGE CARD from Fuller Ford in El Cajon, you can also see the original sales brochure with the circled options that the original buyer had made when he was researching the truck. However, I hope that this will not end the truck completely. There is NO FRAME DAMAGE. The panel, door, and side bed can all be replaced at a fairly low cost. I was able to find replacements for all of it at yards. I unfortunately do not have the time that is needed to take those tasks on. The truck ran incredibly strong, beautiful 460 with absolutely no issues! Transmission is in mint condition. This is truly an incredibly rare and unique truck. My hope is that someone with a passion will be able to bring it back to life. The truck has been sitting since the accident at a storage facility in Oceanside California. It does start up but has not been tuned since the accident in 2018 so it runs rough. Once the carb is adjusted this thing runs as smooth as it did the first day off the lot. The title is salvaged and turned over to the DMV so the truck HAS TO BE TOWED out of storage and once repaired needs to submitted for a salvaged title. The other option is that it could be stripped down for parts, it would be unfortunate to see happen but there is a small gold mine in parts on this truck. Battery has been removed.
