Vehicle description
1984 Volkswagen Gti. 1.8 liter 4 cylinder, fuel injected. Non-A/C car with factory sunroof. This car has gone through an extensive restoration including rust repair, fuel system, brakes system, paint and full interior replacement. Rust repair was done with full panel replacement and/or sheetmetal patches. ~220,000 miles. Very fun to drive.
Engine/Transmission:
Original CIS fuel injection system repaired and refreshed
New fuel tank, fuel pump and fuel lines
Complete cooling system refresh (hoses, belts, water pump, coolant flush, etc)
Engine runs strong, clutch feels great and shifts through all 5 gears smoothly
Rust repair:
New floor pans
New front left fender
New rear skirt/valence
Sheetmetal repairs to all wheel wells (patch panels fabricated and welded)
Inner rocker panels rebuilt
Paint/Exterior:
Full repaint in Cashmere white, single stage enamel and color sanded and buffed.
All glass (except front windshield) and rubber gaskets, trim, etc removed for painting.
Wheels refinished and painted
Interior:
New carpet, headliner and door cards
Original recaro seats reupholstered with OEM VW black/gray/red plaid inserts
Crack free dashboard re-dyed black
Other:
New rubber gaskets all around
Techtonics tuning K brace
Newer tires Tachometer works intermittently Heat works but blower fan needs to be replaced
