Vehicle description
For your consideration is my 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60. I purchased this truck as a parts truck last year and have done a lot of work to get it back up and running. I now drive it several times a week all over the mountains of North Carolina and it runn around pretty well. I will try to list in detail what I have done to the truck.
When I got the truck, it was missing several items that I have replaced
-The seats were missing and I replaced them with subaru forester front seats. They have custom fabricated brackets that allow them to bolt to the factory locations. The interior is in average condition. It has custom made wood door panels. It also has new seatbelts. The carpet is original and stained here and there. The b-pillar lower trim pieces are missing and the dash does have some cracks in it. The radio works great and has 4 new Boss speakers.
-The gauge cluster has been replaced with a used unit. Everything works except the fuel gauge. It need a new tank sender. The gauge shows 298k, which is not correct. I car faxed the vin and it showed the last registered mileage in the mid 100"s. I do not know the true mileage
-The engine has been tuned up with new plug wires, cap, rotor and plug wires. I replaced the fuel filter, hoses, fuel pump and added a weber 38/38 carburetor. It has been completely de smogged and a brand new air pump delete pulley and bracket installed. I"ve also replaced the valve cover gasket, lifter cover gasket and fuel pump gaskets. I have installed a new exhaust from the manifold down pipe back to the rear. It runs really nice.
The AC system has been completely rebuilt and blows COLD! It"s been converted to r134 with all new o rings, dryer, refrigerant and oil. Works nicely.
I"ve installed new rear old man Emu 2" springs as the original springs were worn out. The front has 2" lift shackles. The wheels are new 15x8 black steel wheels made by BART. The tires have about 500 miles on them and are 32x11.5 nankang mud stars. I"ve installed a second steering dampener up front for better steering control and less bump steer with the bigger tires. The drivers side front axle knuckle area is leaking some gear oil and will need to be replaced soon.
As you can see, the truck has the typical rust for this year and model of truck. Both rear fender areas need rust repair,the rear tailgate and a very small area starting to pop up on the roof. The paint is worn as you can see from the photos and the truck has dents and dings. The floors and frame look very solid.
The truck comes with a 9500 lb. Winch that is about 4 months old. I built a front winch mount box as seen in the pictures and have solidly mounted the winch. It is fully functional and works well. It also has a wireless bluetooth remote that can be used from inside the vehicle
The truck also comes with a roof rack I custom built a few years ago for another landcruiser I owned. I kept this rack when I sold that one and put it on this truck. It is made from 1.5" DOM tubing and is very solid.
Overall, the truck is a good driver. I"ve been driving it around for the last 8 months and it has been a fun vehicle. The truck is by no means perfect or original and you should expect to have to do some work and tuning to it here and there, but it"s a good truck to drive around as you work on it. I have sold many vehicles and know the process pretty well. I have no problem meeting with a shipper to help load. Setting up the actual shipping if needed is the responsibility of the buyer.
