| “For sale is my Mercedes Benz 300D. The car runs and drives wonderfully, being that it's 36 years old it's not perfect but it's a great car. I used this car for a daily driver and weekly trips to the airport which is about 120 miles away. The car gets around 25mpg. The car is mechanically sound, no rust on the body, oil changed every 3000 miles. i have also just replaced the upper fuel line and motor mounts. I had the starter replaced two years ago, and put a new alternator on it last year. Everything works on the car with the exception of the odometer. The odometer is showing just over 200K but I estimate the car has around 225K. The odometer will work when the temp is below 40 degrees but only until the car warms up which is usually around the first 17 miles. I just never got around to fixing it. The rear windows work, but the switch is dirty so sometimes you have to push it more than once. The hood is starting to get patina, if I was going to keep it I would paint it.” |

For sale is my 1984 300D turbo. The car runs and drives wonderfully. Being that it is 36 years old it"s not perfect, but it is a very solid reliable car. Before Covid hit, I was using it for a daily driver and weekly trips to the airport a little over 200 miles round trip. The car is an absolute pleasure to drive. About the car, it gets around 25 mpg, I change the oil every 3000 miles. Maintenance I have done includes replacing the upper oil line and motor mounts last month, the alternator and rear shocks last year, the starter replaced two years ago. There is zero rust on this car, it"s amazing to me that a car this old is rust free. The rear window switch sometimes needs to be push a few times to engage probably due to dirt. The A/C needs to be recharged to blow really cold. Everything works on the car except; The cruise control does not work and I just haven"t figure it out. The odometer only works when the temperature gets below 40 degrees and stops working when the car warms up or about 17 miles. I track the mileage and MPG with a GPS. Everything else works fine. If I was going to keep this car I would have it painted, the hood and fender is starting to show some patina. I know some people like that look, personally I like a shiny car.
