Vehicle description
Up for auction is my 928. I have owned this car for about 15 years. I drove it occasionally for about ten years then decided to sell it. I listed it here on E-Bay and it sold. The guy never picked it up. So it has sat here for the last 5 years. All the pics, except for the last 9, are from 5 years ago.
In any event, I just went and took a bunch of pics of it as it looks today. I had started it as yet another project (I have about five other cars that are also in project status) that I have not found the time to get to. In the meantime, I also misplaced the title. Since I never bothered to flip the title into my name, getting it replaced may prove to be a challenge so I am listing it here pretty much as a parts car. I know there are services on the web that will get you a new title for around $500 but I am not doing that. I"ll leave that up to the next buyer.
Now the battery, while it was new five years ago, is presently dead as dead gets. I did jump and it starts up with starting fluid but soo dies. I assume the fuel in the tank has long since expired. Along with the dead battery, the interior has got some mildew and the dash and console are a little taken apart as I had purchased some new swiches and buttons for the windows and others that were not working 100%. As far as I know, those new parts are still in the car. There is also a new rubber chin for the car inside but that does NOT come with the car. Seeing as how I am probably going to take a bath on this deal by selling it dirty and without a title, I am going to sell the new chin in a seperate auction to try to recoup some of my cash.
When I was driving the car it ran very well. The pop up headlights worked fine, the window switches worked sometimes, but overall she ran very well. Over the five years of sitting the paint appears to have faded. Pretty sure that with a little elbow grease the car should clean up very nicely. Wheels and tires are in good shape. In any event, take a close look at the pics and bid accordingly.
If anyone wants to come out and inspect the car prior to bidding, have at it. I have kept the car constantly insured throughout the whole time I have had the car and it is still insured. Again, anyone is welcome to inspect the car prior to bidding. I also have a complete shop where it sits, so if you want to slap a new battery in it, drain the tank and put some fresh fuel in it, have at it. She will probably fire right up and run fine. Like I said above, prior to letting her sit, she ran just fine.
So long story short, she is being sold as is where-is with no guarantees or title. I will also sell the new chin to the winning bidder for roughly half of what I paid for it, for just $200.
This is a cash and carry auction. I would prefer to be paid in cash, however, if you have money order or any kind of check, please come during business hours and we can go to the local bank and convert it to cash prior to me releasing the car. There are most national banks within five minutes of my home so make sure yours is one of them.
So good luck and happy bidding
