Vehicle description
Hello All: Up for consideration today is my 1983 Mercedes Benz 240d, Car has been owned by myself for just under a year. I purchased this car thinking that I would keep the miles off my new vehicle and this would be used more than it has been. With that being said, I drive the car around town and it dies just fine. I have owned many diesel Mercedes Benz and would say this seems to be inline with all the others, with the exception that this is a non turbo car (240d) which tends to be slower on the take-off and when climbing huge hills/mountains, lol. I know, I just got back with the car from Fancy Gap, Va.(Hills & mountain side) Car is showing 413,186 (odometer went out 2 maths after buying car) (I use a battery mileage counter when I drive car) Since owning the car, I have driven this car about 5,000 miles (I was told that engine was completely overhauled at 294,000 miles) however, I have no proof of that (only car seems to handle as it should) valves have been adjusted, oil change done, tires are about 60/70% however tires are older and I drive locally (so no big deal) There is a dent in the trunk from a tree limb about 2 years before I purchased the car. AC blows however needs charging. Heat works as it should. No cracks in glass/and as it should be. Lights operate as they should. There is surface rust in the standard areas of these cars (see pics) and there is rust in the rear driver side floor pans (again typical) but floor pans in all other areas appear good. Interior is without rips/tears with the exception of the driver seat (one tear in middle)(see pics) and top of arm rest is bad. Wood (dash) is not the best. Paint does still shine but is multi colored (either from fade or repainted through the years) Car has a new battery w warranty. Again, car is 35 years of age and should be considered just that. These engines alone are selling for $1500, transmissions are going for $600, misc. parts etc. or you choose to part car. Again, it is a running/driving car without having it"s faults (see description) If you purchase and don"t follow through, arbitration will take place. Accepted offer does not mean it reserves the right to inspect vehicle after, do so prior/during offer acceptance. I have made every attempt to disclose ALL information resulting with this vehicle. If you have any questions in regards to this listing before submitting offer, please feel free to do so. Thank you and Happy looking.
