Vehicle description

1968 Mercedes 280 SE Description:
I HAVE SET A RIDICULOUSLY LOW RESERVE ON THIS MERCEDES BENZ-SO PLEASE BID BEFORE ITS GONE.
Beautiful 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE with 2.2 liter inline 6 cylinder engine. The steel body of the car is straight. The doors, trunk, and hood open and close as they should with the reassuring thud that is a signature of these classic S class Mercedes sedans. This reliable German classic starts right up and runs well. This Benz could easily be a daily driver on the highway or through city streets. The M180 2.2 liter inline 6 cylinder engine is still solid and the transmissions shifts smoothly. Odometer reads 00125, so it’s believed to have just over 100k miles, there’s no reason why this car couldn’t go another 100k, they just don’t make cars like this anymore. The 280SE is a stylish classic that turns heads and will be a pleasure to the person who decides to buy it.
This Mercedes Benz 280SE is a unrestored 50 year old car so it is by no means perfect. The original paint is worn and shows signs of its age. There are areas of rust showing through paint on rocker panels below side doors. There is also some light surface rust on the roof edges around the window trim. . A little surface rust on the chrome rims but nothing a little elbow grease couldn’t remove. There is a small dent on the rear bumper (caused by a contractor that dropped a 2x4 that hit the bumper). You can see it in the pictures. The interior, while still functional, needs some restoration, particularly the wood trim and vinyl on the driver’s seat. Additionally, two of the electronic windows are not working. I found this car to be very drivable in its present condition but it could use some restoration to take it to the next level.
