Vehicle description
first off, thanks for looking.
Up for sale is a classic sports car. if you"ve always wanted a sleek sports car that has grunt and sex appeal then this is the one. I wanted the E type Jaguar but settled on the nostalgic 280zx. Now it can be yours.
If original is what you are looking for then look no further. This car has been looked after and whenever there was a need then we spent the money. New tires, new roof lining, oil changes done religiously. We have most of the service records and of course the folder will go with the car.
We are not the original owners but have had the car for 26 years. In that time we put 30,000 miles on it. (102K+on the clock) To say that we only drove it on weekends and occasionally to work would be close to the truth.
So here are the Pros.
this car is a real head turner everything is original. no modifications at all drives straight and true no accidents it has the T-tops with the covers digital dash and the Cons.
the clear coat is peeling there is bubble rust along the windshield the spare tire needs replacing (it has never been used and has cracked from the heat) the radio works sometime ( got to get my hand under the dashboard one of these days) if i can think of other things then i will update this ad. or better still ask me a question. i will be truthful and honest with my reply.
I did visit my local classic body shop and had a good talk about the clear coat. To have it professionally painted with every panel removed and painted and reinstalled will cost approximately $3000.00.
Subsequently, I have looked at other comparable vehicles and have priced it accordingly. I can also see this as a father and son project. imagine the memories you will develop and then to see him drive this baby to college. I still drive it on weekends because i enjoy stick driving (and passing cars)
Just be mindful of this . . the current car you are driving is depreciating in value every day. These Classic sports cars appreciate in value. the same car in similar condition has gone for $12,000 - $19,000.
Of course, those that want to test drive it and arrive by plane, i am happy to meet you at Austin Airport.
