No Joke! TWIN 1982 Volkswagen Vanagons; one for driving and one for parts.
Thing 1 (SITS): in upstate NY. VIN WV2Z60251CH135524 ; Clean CA title. I bought this one first and drove her back East from CA via the Grand Canyon. Original 1.6L NA Diesel engine is shot and this is strictly for parts so will need to be trailered. However. .This one has all original components including the 3 way fridge and RARE rear compartment diesel heater. Functionality unknown on anything in this one but it has a decent original woven earthtone interior with brown trim and carpet. My plan was to put this interior and the diesel heater into Thing 2. We all know about about best laid plans. .
Thing 2 (DRIVES): in Southwest MA. VIN WV2ZG0259CH041858 ; original CBP Form 7501 indicates Clean Entry/Import to USA from Canada. I bought this one in 2015 in BC and drove her back to the East Coast (first photo is the continental divide) so I am the one who did the importing and this paperwork is all you would need to title/register in your State. I’ve always run with transport plates so I never bothered to title/register her in the USA. A LOT of time and money has gone into this vehicle but I"ve run out of steam, don"t need yet another project. .and bought a Sprinter.
