Vehicle description

Vehicle Details This 1976 Volkswagen Type 2 is a right-hand-drive, South African-built Jurgens Autovilla camper that was acquired by the seller and imported to the US from South Africa in April 2019. It is finished in two-tone white and green over a tan interior and is powered by a 1.8-liter flat-four mated to a four-speed manual transaxle. Features include a stovetop and oven, a refrigerator, a sink, a bed, and storage cabinets. The top end of the engine was rebuilt in January 2021 and the rear axles were overhauled. This Autovilla is now offered with import documents, service records, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name. The cab and camper are finished in two-tone white over green and is believed to have been repainted under prior ownership. Exterior features include a rear trailer hitch, white-painted bumpers, and twin side mirrors. Close-up photos of the paint, lenses, and trim are shown in the gallery. Black-painted 14” steel wheels wear polished VW hubcaps and are mounted with 215/70 Hankook Kinergy ST tires that were installed in May 2021. Work performed in January 2021 included an overhaul of the rear axles along with replacement of the boots, one CV joint, and the drag link. The right-hand-drive cabin houses two bucket seats trimmed in tan vinyl along with matching door panels. A black rubber mat lines the floors and appointments include and a heater. Instrumentation consists of a 140-km/h speedometer, a fuel level gauge, and a five-digit odometer that shows 14k kilometers (~9k miles), around 200 of which were added by the seller, though total mileage is unknown. The wiring to the fuel gauge was repaired in addition to several lights in January 2021. The 1.8-liter flat-four is fitted with a Bosch 12-volt ignition and received a top-end overhaul by Classic Auto Service of Dallas, Texas in January 2021. Work performed at that time included a carburetor rebuild and replacement of the cylinder heads, pistons, cylinders, and bearings, along with the spark plugs, thermostat, and flywheel as outlined on a receipt provided in the gallery.
