Vehicle description
You are bidding on a 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 series “Troopy”. The Troopy is in original condition. The FJ45 is left hand drive and is powered by the original Toyota 2F gasoline engine. Unlike certain diesel varieties, this engine was used in the United States in Land Cruisers from the mid-1970’s to the late 1980’s. This is a very dependable engine and parts are readily available throughout the US. The Troopy also has a manual 4 speed transmission that is also common in US Land Cruisers. The transmission shifts great and is very dependable. The Troopy shows 46,526 kilometers and I believe it has rolled over. I have recently replaced the carburetor, radiator, front windshield, u-joints, and transmission mount, hand brake cable. The drivetrain is in great working order and I have videos I can send showing the truck starting and driving in-town and on the freeway. While this isn’t a brand new vehicle, it is a very solid Land Cruiser. Over 80% thread left on all tires. The frame is solid with no signs of rust or frame repair. The firewall and rear floor are also in great shape with no signs of rust. These are common areas for rusting but the dry climate appears to have preserved the truck nicely. The doors are all solid with no signs of rust. The hood is in great shape with no signs of rust. In addition, the windshield frame and windshield hinges are also in great original shape with no apparent rust. The Troopy has the original 60/40 split bench seat up front. These seats are pretty rare to find and these have been protected with seat covers. The rear seats are also included; however, two of the bottom seats (out of four) are missing. The rear seats are also removable and most people choose to remove at least two of them for camping setups. There is rust present in the driver and passenger floor boards and side rocker panels. These locations are probably the most common for rust on 40 series Land Cruisers. You can repair (floor panels are available through many vendors) or continue to drive as-is. This is not a show truck. As noted above, it’s got some issues that are common for a vehicle of this age. The good thing though is that this is still a 40 series Land Cruiser (just longer wheelbase than the more common FJ40) and there are numerous vendors who specialize in these vehicles. The winning bidder can drive as-is or choose to upgrade to their liking. This is a great platform for either because the truck has minimal rust and is in good driving condition. Video of the Troopy running. https:/ www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4UBdO9l2qI The Troopy is located in Los Angeles. The VIN is FJ45-321732. As discussed above, I personally imported the vehicle and it has a clean Montana title. Feel free to contact me with any questions. My email is [email protected] and my cell phone is 818-281-2223.
