Vehicle description
Here it is! A beautiful example of an emerging classic, the Mercedes W123. A true grandmother-driven, garage-kept vehicle for most of its life, this 240D hardly shows its age. Original gold paint shines brightly and tan MB-Tex interior is in great condition. The engine starts on the first turn and runs strongly, albeit at a classic Mercedes diesel"s slower pace. Routine and recent maintenance have allowed windows, locks, sunroof, A/C, etc to remain in working condition. Tires and rubber seals are in good condition and the dashboard has no cracks.
Anyone with knowledge of Mercedes diesels of this era knows of the legendary durability of these engines, and the market continues to rise as great examples such as this become more and more rare.
Vehicle is located in Louisville, Kentucky and is available for viewing and test drives in the area. Current mileage is 51,432 which will increase slightly as it is driven occasionally. While it is in overall wonderful condition for its age, it is a 36 year-old car and does have minor blemishes here and there. The original Becker stereo only recently faulted and currently only plays out of one side of the speakers.
This car is a joy to drive for anyone who appreciates a classic Mercedes diesel. Onlookers regularly give waves and thumbs-up in appreciation of the great lines, shiny chrome trim, and recognizable diesel rumble.
