Vehicle description
Land Rover 88 Series III built by Santana in 1982. Modelo Especial. Seating for 3 in the front and 4 in the back troop-style. Full size removable hard-top 4-wheel drive manually selectable 4 speed manual transmission 2-speed transfer case (high/low range) Front hub lockers 2.5 liter, 4 cylinder normally aspirated diesel engine. Over 20 MPG. A legendary rock solid powerplant. Ready for your next adventure in the suburbs, the mountains, the beach or far removed from civilization. The Land Rover Series is what made Land Rovers a legend, and one you"ll pass on to your grandchildren.
Has no ABS, no ECU, no power windows, no power steering, no power-brakes, no A/C, no electronic components of any kind. .no headaches. Impervious to Electromagnetic Pulses (EMP) like those caused by nuclear blasts. You"ll be the only one running when the time comes. Just stock up on some sunflower seed oil. It likes sunflower-seed oil better than diesel fuel I think, but it may make others around you hungry.
Mechanical condition: It is in very good mechanical condition. My mechanic in Madrid is a now retired long-time Land Rover technician and gave it the thumbs up. It has always been properly maintained. Recently passed the ITV inspection, a very stringent government-required mechanical, safety and emissions inspection for all cars in order to be driven in spanish and european roads. In old cars like this one is required to pass one every six months.
Cosmetic condition: Very good for its age. It was also recently resprayed to regain the original shine in some areas faded by the sun. There is no rust damage anywhere, which is usually the case for cars in the region where it comes from, Madrid.
Optional equipment: If you want to add accessories, we can do it at your expense, but they may not alter certain areas that would void its importation requirements for the US. One that I would certainly undertake is wheels, tires and a soft-top. .ask me what you may want to do and I"ll talk to my mechanic in Madrid.
Shipping :
All shipping costs from Madrid to Atlanta, and customs, title, tag fees are included in the sale price
The car is currently in Madrid, Spain. It will be shipped by boat to a US eastern port and then transported by truck to my home in Atlanta, GA where it will be titled, registered and tagged in my name. After that the new owner can drive it or ship it anywhere in the US and transfer ownership. Turnaround time for shipping is around 2 months from start in Madrid to finish in Atlanta. Trust me, I have done it already and that"s how long it takes so be patient. Contact me if you have any questions. I also have references upon request, but only for serious bidders.
