Vehicle description
Ready for a winter project? Looking for a Square Body canidate for your LS Swap? Just want a classic Rust-free Barn Find?
You would be hard pressed to find an original K5 in this shape. If I had a barn, it would be probably classified as a "barn find". I personally took ownership of it in 1999 from a great uncle, sold it to a family member in 2005, and year took ownership of it again in 2018. I recently drove it from Central New Mexico to Phoenix, AZ earlier this summer. This is about as original as it gets, and has basically sat in the dry Arizona sun for much of its life. The few years that it was not in Arizona, it was in the desert near Albuquerque. 305 Small Block V8, original block as far as I know, and I think it had a valve job sometime in the 1990s. It is a tired 305 but still running engine. Still has good oil pressure. I personally would have no issue driving this hundreds of miles today as I just drove it across two states just a few months ago.
Original Transmission with 4x4. 4WD low is almost impossible to get into gear, has been since I have had it in 1999. It has never left me stuck in 4-Hi, so I never try 4low anymore. Like most old chevys, it has leaks. Not horribly bad, but it looks like maybe transmission rear seal. I don"t know, I just know it left a 2" spot on my driveway after sitting this last week.
Odometer says just over 30000. NM checked box B because of age during last title change, I don"t know the history before 1999, but I have only put about 10K on it since 1999. It could be original 30k miles if you look at the condition of everything like the interior, original carpet and seats, engine bay and even the break peddle.
A/C still blows freezing cold, even after all these years. Still original R-12, Probably the best vehicle I have with AC for Arizona summers.
In 2018 I replaced the original Radiator with an all aluminum racing style one. This truck will idle with A/C on in AZ 119 degree days until you get board of sitting. Radiator runs this thing cool. Someone attempted to steel the OEM AM/FM radio years ago. I have replace it with a AM/FM/Bluetooth head unit.
Gauges work. in 2018 I replaced most gauge and interior/exterior bulbs with LED. Tires (mud/snow) are good with a lot of tread left 2018 had plugs/wires/radiator/trans fluids changed. New battery in 2017, still holds good charge. New window motor for drivers door installed in 2019. Have one in the box for the passenger (still works, but is slow). Rear window still works. Other than change oil, wipers, batteries and tires, I have not had to do anything else to this vehicle other than what was listed above since 1999. I only drive it a few miles per quarter, so nothing out of the ordinary has really needed attention. Crazy 1970"s era plad cloth is near perfect and has held up to Heat, Sun, camping, hunting, etc, and is still soft and like new. If only GM would do this on new cars!
This truck was originally a special "Ducks Unlimited" show-truck with the DU logo on the door and fancy paint job, pinstripes and little ducks down the side. The southwest sun ate most of it away by the year 2000, and I attempted to wet sand the rough stuff out in 2001. You can see where I left it on the doors as there are still layers of paint around the keyhole and the original fancy paint is still on the rocker panels. Dash cover has been on for 25+ or more years, but the dash still cracked from the speaker areas. Dry Heat I guess did that. Until the last two years, this truck sat out in the Phoenix sun, or at my family"s ranch in the high desert. In the last few years it has been garaged. Probably driven less than 100 miles a year to pull logs, hit trails for hunting/fishing/whatever.
I can"t think of a more original, unmolested, straight K5 that you can get for a bargain than this one. I was thinking of doing a LS Swap and making it my daily, but I have way too many car projects stacked up and no one in my family is young enough anymore to want to drive a full sized truck. So it is looking for a new loving home. Adding in (4) Goodyear Duratrack "offroad" tires that I took off my previous 4x4 and was going to put on this.

Balance of payment due within 7 days via cashiers check. After 7 days, you will be in default and loose the bid and your deposit.

I will overnight the clear title once all funds are paid, or to the winning bidder in person when you pick up the vehicle.

I am not going to do your friend a favor by doing strange payment or shipping to others to hold it. You pay and then come pick it up. I will not deliver it. Delivery is your responsibility. I have had good luck shipping vehicles with services like haulmatch.
FINAL TERMS:
Transport/pickup, fees and taxes are buyers responsibility. This vehicle is being sold AS-IS with no promises of warranty of any kind. It will start, stop, turn, and load up onto a trailer, but the buyer is responsible for any questions or inspections before placing bid. READ AUCTION FULLY before bidding! I will do my best to answer questions, but what I said in this auctions is about all I know of the vehicle.
note: I have been a ebay member for over 20 years with 100% percent feedback. About a year ago Ebay accidentally merged databases and switched my state code for Arizona (AZ) to a country code. So it says I live somewhere else other than the USA. This is a field I cannot change, and have spent a year trying to get to change it (they do but it reverts back after a few days). So don"t be alarmed, I am in the USA. I have bought and sold many high end items here, including houses and cars with 100% positive feedback.
