Vehicle description
This has been my "interim" car while my "63 Buick was in the shop for a years long restoration. It"s a solid #3 car per Hagerty"s valuation guide. Since I bought it in 2017 I"ve put $7,000+ into it and of course have all the receipts. Some of the work done; Full tune up and all fluids changed ($700+), complete AC rebuild - all new components ($2,700+), new fuel tank and pump ($1,000), nosepiece repaint - proper color match, new R & L lower air dams, new floor mats from Eckler"s, new voltmeter, new T Top, door, and window rubber from Eckler"s professionally installed and Krytoxed (2018). I had the exhaust system inspected post purchase - the guys at Boise Muffler replaced a hanger bracket and told me the pipes and mufflers were in good condition and should last for years. The brake and taillight nacelles have been gone through and work fine as do the pop up headlights. The good - it runs and drives as it should and everything works except the radio, It worked before the AC was rebuilt. Power windows are strong, power drivers seat, door locks, and antennae as well. I"m the third owner. The previous owner had it for 27 years. Receipts are spotty from when she owned it but there are some. The bad - the paint is not perfect - it was repainted at some point which I didn"t even notice until after I bought it and took it to my body shop for the nosepiece repaint and they pointed it out. There is a scratch on the left front fender (pictured) and two drops of grey paint (not pictured). There is a horizontal running green scuff mark (pictured) just aft of the nosepiece. Also, a very light scratch above the green scuff mark about 3" long and maybe .003 deep. The tires are Goodyear Eagle GT II"s with plenty of tread but I"ve been advised that they should be replaced in that they are over 10 years old. O.K. for around town but my tire shop recommended that I not drive it at freeway speeds due to the risk of tread delamination. Until they told be that, I"d had it on the freeway plenty of times. It"s pretty intense at 85 mph. The steering is very tight. The drivers side seat has normal wear for a 39 year old car. There is a 3" seat/bolster seam separation and a small tear on the bolster. Realistically (unless you"re into perfection) it could go years without replacing. The passenger seat is is in excellent condition. 700 CCA Interstate battery installed in December. Owners manual and build sheet included. Local pickup only.
