| “The overall condition is great. It looks to be the original paint that has been touched up in some places over the years. There are some minor dings. There is no visible rust, we've looked all over. The sliding door has rubbed the paint a little bit. The interior is very clean and looks really nice. 1981 VW Vanagon High Top Adventure Wagon Westfalia Very low original miles with a 67 horsepower, 2.0 liter, air cooled four cylinder fuel injected engine. This van is an excellent runner and shows just over 71K original miles. Love the way it starts, runs and drives. Goes down the road very well, straight and true. The "Adventure Wagon Westy" is regarded as one of the most versatile camper packages ever on the Vanagon! More and more Van Life Enthusiasts are seeking the High Top. It is much roomier and you can stand up without having to pop the top. (excellent for inclement weather!) Superb for "urban camping", you can park anywhere and not "look like" you are sleeping inside. Lots of extra storage capacity! The High Top package was professionally installed in Fort Bragg California along with all of the other sweet Adventure Wagon upgrades. The interior is nice and clean, the upholstery is really nice, not ripped or torn. It is an excellent reflection of the care that this special van has received. Contoured comfortable rear bench seat and super functional layout. There is a full bed up-top and another full bed/platform down below.
The stove works well. This model also has a nice skylight (doesn"t leak) when you are cooking just roll the skylight up to let the cooking smells out. Pressurized water tank for sink/faucet, wall furnace for heat and a clean working refrigerator. (it"s larger then most Westy"s) It has a fold-out table top for dining and another small table outside with a spice rack below. There is an extra table up in the cubby in the front of the high top. The little matching ottoman seat has a very clean port-o-potty hidden under the cover.
It has a nice, new JVC stereo deck with CD Player, AUX and front and the back speakers for a quality, balanced sound. The tires are in great condition, plenty of tread and no visible checking. The heater/blower fan motor has been recently replaced. YouTube Video will open in a new window
