About this vehicle This 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit is an original. The owner has had it for 2 years. The vehicle is drivable and is mainly used for weekend drives. Vehicle Details Clean 1981 VW diesel rabbit 5 speed manual. Not Arizona clean, but clean. Strut towers have original paint. Few rust spots on exterior, though everything that typically rusts is clean. I would drive this anywhere, at 50 mpg. Bought to restore but have run out of garage space. Fun to drive but takes a little longer to get to your destination (aka not the fastest of vehicles) injection pump recently rebuilt with newer timing belt, new glow plugs, newer water pump and radiator. Two new front rotors and 2 brand new tires included but not mounted. Runs like a dream. One of the cleanest interiors I’ve seen. Easy to restore or drive it like it is. Horn doesn’t work. Rear passenger window had some idiot shoot grinder sparks on it. Other than that, glass is good. Working hand crank sunroof. Interior fabric on sunroof hangs a little. E-brake works. 12 V works. Clock does not. Did I mention it gets 50 MPG? Average 4500 miles a year. Love the car just have no room for it anymore. You could even run vegetable oil in this.
