Vehicle description
1981 Alfa-Romeo Spider: Low Mileage, Excellent Original Condition
The Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce (105/115 series) is a convertible roadster produced by the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo from 1966 to 1993. (To translate the Italian, “Spider†means “convertibleâ€, and “Veloce†means “speedâ€, similar to the “S†moniker often given to Porsches to connote the higher performance models.) The successor to the Giulia Spider , it remained in production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes. This, the last of the 2 nd series, was assembled by Pininfarina . It is powered by a 2.0 liter, inline four engine with double overhead cams. On this particular model the troublesome Spica Fuel injection was replaced with reliable, high performance dual Weber carburetors, which not only make the car run and sound better; they make it much easier to drive and maintain. This Alfa features power disc brakes all around, a 5-speed, all-synchro manual transmission, original leather interior, power windows, factory mag wheels, Sony removable-face AM/FM radio, wood steering wheel, original manual convertible top (one hand operation). It has had one very long-term owner and has covered less than 40k miles. It is highly original, entirely rust-free, and just received a high-quality professional paint job in its original Silver Metallic. It was NOT restored, as it already was in excellent condition; just the paint was faded. (Pictures before paint available.) If you haven’t driven an Alfa, you are in for a treat. They completely transform the crude sports car experience into one of refinement and grace. Ask any Alfa owner: it is a unique driving sensation. A side benefit is that Alfa’s are appreciating in value, in part due to the re-introduction of the brand to the United States, and also due to the astounding appreciation of other classic Italian brands; ex., Ferrari’s and Maserati’s. If you’re thinking about a sports car for the Summer (or all year-round), and want something you won’t see coming and going, a car that will bring a smile to your face every time you drive her, one that will appreciate in value; maybe this Alfa Romeo is the right car for you.
