OVERVIEW 1981 Datsun 280ZX Coupe. Well optioned 5 speed with A/C, leather interior, power steering / brakes, power windows, mirrors and cruise control. One owner Southern California car since new. Never a victim of rust or prior accident damage. It has had extraordinary care and service since new and it remains in exceptional condition throughout. The chassis miles are (221K) but look closely at the photos to see the condition it is in. Much of its life it was serviced at the Dealer, including a complete new engine from Nissan. The dealer also did a complete window and trim off repaint with some new trim sourced from the Factory. Car has always been garaged at home and at the office; the interior dash and components remain crack and without major sun damage. Runs and drives fantastic. Below is a detailed description. As mentioned above the car received a high quality repaint by the Dealer in the early 2000"s and it still looks fresh. The car was disassembled and the stainless window trim was replaced with new as well as window rubbers and seals. At this time the owner decided to change the color from its original black. Overall looks fantastic with uniform paint depth and shine. Panel alignment is precise and the panels are laser straight down the sides. INTERIOR All original with the exception of the leather seats which were replaced with matching leather material and pattern as Factory original. Dash is in excellent condition without cracks or fade. Carpet in cargo area has some discoloration from age and UV light. Some damage to rear panel cover by the rear hatch latch. Overall excellent for age and shows how well the car was cared for. MECHANICAL Runs and drives very well. Smooth idle and acceleration, no smoke on start up; or hard acceleration or de-accelerating. No fluid leaks. Shifts smooth and responsive. Very tight steering and handling. The Dealer replaced the engine with a new Factory unit somewhere around 125K miles and did most of its early service. Many recent receipts from Datsun Specialist showing consistent servicing as needed. Thanks for looking !
